Individualized Professional Development Plan

Name : Lauren Geerts Major: Elementary Education, Minor in Diverse Learners

Start with your WHY: Why are you pursuing this degree? What do you want the outcome to be? How are you
going to work toward making that outcome possible? **Is the outcome directly related to your WHY?
WHY: I have always wanted a career in helping people. That career in mind was not always teaching, but I finally

decided that teaching children is what I really want to do. I have grown passionate for wanting to help children

both inside and outside of the classroom.

What: I want to become a teacher in order to help kids get to their full potential and educate those who are in

need. I want to work in a school that is less fortunate than the elementary school that I went to. I believe kids who

have lower income should also be getting a good education with well trained teachers.

How: I will start by getting experience in the field of childcare and educating. Graduating from Butler will ensure

me a good position in the field of teaching.
