P = 𝜌g h
Where: 𝜌 = density of water at local temperature, get the value from the “Table of Relative
Velocity against different temperaturs”. g = local gravitational acceleration of Cebu City,
Philippines = 9.782433 m/sec2 taken from the Gravity Map of the World. h = height of
water measured from the bottom, meter “static pressure head”.
Actual measurement using a straight edge.
Pb = total static pressure at the bottom of the bottle, kPa. Calculate by substituting all the
values.
P = F/A
F = force of water acting at the bottom of the bottle.
A = cross-sectional area of the container, m2. Determine the inside diameter of the bottle
by a Vernier caliper.
W = mg
m = mass of the bottle, kg indicated in the weighing scale. Weigh the bottle at empty
condition, filled condition (Open System) and filled condition with Closed System.
∑ FV = ma = 0
F=W
Objective: To determine the variations of calculations of Force, against Weight, W.

Pb = Pwater + Ptrapped air

P = 𝜌g h

City, Philippines = 9.782433 m/sec2 h = height of water measured from the bottom,
meter “static pressure head” Pb = total static pressure at the bottom of the bottle, kPa

Note: Perform the same procedure and calculations as above.
