THE ROLE OF MEDIA AND INFORMATION IN EDUCATION IN THE NEW

NORMAL BROUGHT ABOUT BY THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC

Broadcast media refers to forms of mass media that concentrate on presenting

information to the public or the target world, e.g, newspaper, radio,TV and the internet.
It plays a cretical role in distributing knowledge among the messes and serve as the
way to disseminate information and communicate information regarding opinions and
education so that citizens can grow more socially aware about the problems existing in
the society. Therefore, I think that information media industry should be regarded as
consumer industry. The marketplace which produces products and services designed
for general consumer rather a public facility, studies to varieties of common power and
control ranging from local community-based groups to government

Desirable competitors may improve news media industries perfromance through

maintaining perssure on them. In consumer industry, new media companies can
priotize consumers’ responsiblity and fulfil there needs. For example, current media
manufactures tend to offer fast news information and inpove the quality and quality of
data as to attract the people to select their line over competitors’( shipman,2016. Also,
these companies operate on the income generated from adverstising. Whereas ad
companies can keep tract on their statistic on how some audiences and readers to take
which one they should determine on.

1. IDENTIFY THE GOALS AND SCOPE OF SOCIAL WORK

The goal and scope of social work as laid down is noble and broad- to help an individual be
included in society and t transform the very society that creates structures that marginalize
individuals form full participation in the enjoyment of social service and resources of the
community

2. EXPLAIN THE PRINCIPLE AND CORE VALUES OF SOCIAL WORK

Values Social workers value the dignity and worth of each person. They treat each client in a
compassionate and respectful way that is mindful of individual differences, cultural norms and
ethnic diversity. They promote clients' socially responsible self-determination based on their
individual values.

3. EXPLAIN THE ROLE AND FUCTIONS OF SOCIAL WORKERS

Social workers are responsible for helping individuals, families, and groups of people to cope
with problems they're facing to improve their patients' lives. One aspect of this is teaching skills
and developing mechanisms for patients to rely on to better their lives and experiences.

4. IDENTIFY SPECIFIC WORK AREAS IN WHICH SOCIAL WORKERS WORK

Common areas of specialization of social work include clinical, school, gerontological and child
and family social work. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that the median salary of
social workers was $51,760 per year as of May 2020 with an impressive projected growth rate of
13 percent. Child and Family Social Work

5. VALUE RIGHTS, RESPONSIBILITIE, AND ACCOUNTIBILITIES.

If you can think of a situation that you’ve been in that clearly aligns with this, you’ll be able to
relate to the difference between accountability and responsibility. The difference between the
first and second scenario is that in the first, people are accountable for their work.

6. DISTINGUISH BETWEEN ETHICAL AND UNITHICAL BEHAVIORS AMONG

PRACTITIONERS.
Unethical behavior can be defined as actions that are against social norms or acts that are
considered unacceptable to the public.

Ethical behavior is the complete opposite of unethical behavior. Ethical behavior follows the
majority of social norms and such actions are acceptable to the public.

Examples of ethical and unethical behavior:

DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION
REGION V
DIVISION OF CAMARINES SUR
NABUA NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL

Unethical: “A student used plagiarism on their final written assignment to get a higher grade”
This is unethical because it goes against social norms and the majority of the people would find
this act unacceptable.

Ethical: “A student worked hard on research for their final written assignment and used in text
citations and references to earn a higher grade” This is ethical because it does not go against
social norms and the majority of the people would find this act acceptable.

1. HOW WOULD YOU ASSESS THE SERVICES AND ASSISTANCE GIVEN BY THE
DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL WORK AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE PUBLIC IN THIS
COVID-109 CRISIS?
To mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, countries worldwide are working to provide
people, particularly low-income and vulnerable individuals, with financial aid. Financial aid
delivery relies on social protection and payments systems and the extent to which these are
already in place and functioning effectively. This Briefing addresses how donors and their
partners can design and implement social assistance payments that are efficient and secure
while providing recipients with reliable, convenient, and safe access to their payments.
Although it focuses on short- to medium-term response, this Briefing also considers the
importance of the longer-term development objectives of building more resilient and responsive
digital payments systems.

2. ASIDE FROM THE SOCIAL AMELIORATION PROGRAM AND RELIEF PACKS

3. WILL YOU BE CONSIDERING SOCIAL WORK AS YOUR PROFESSION? WHY OR

WHY NOT?
Yes, I do consider it, because any work could be a profession i think, because Social workers
help relieve people's suffering, fight for social justice, and improve lives and communities. Most
people think of social workers when they think of poverty alleviation and child welfare. Many
social workers do that kind of work and we do much more.
