2. Illustrate these differences (or similarities) between these three
3. Specify the appropriate medium for a particular communication mode

Direction 1: Based on your understanding of the literature above. Answer the questions
below using a separate sheet of paper. Do not fail to submit output to the teacher.
1. What is media literacy?
- Based on my understanding, media literacy is being knowledgeable with the different

specific function of each media type, how we’ll be able to make the most out of these media
types and to how we’ll be able to make appropriate and responsible use of it.

2. What is information literacy?

- Based on my understanding, information literacy isn’t just solely about being
knowledgeable of all sorts of information. This also includes the knowledge on when, where
and what information is needed in a certain situation. Another is the ability to evaluate
information most especially to know if the information is true or not.

3. What is technology literacy?

- Based on my understanding technology literacy is being knowleddeable in terms of the
different tools of technology. From how to operate the tool itself, the soft itself, the
softwares, responsible usage of the tools, choosing the proper technology tool, to how a
technology tool can be used in a certain situation.

4. If a person wants see a film, what will he do? Where should he go? What will he
need?
- If a person wants to see a film, he/she can use Facebook google or Youtube to search for
all the information he/she needs. He can search for a movie, available cinemas and the
prices. In watch a movie, he can go to a cinema. To be able to do it, he’ll need a device
either a mobile phone or a laptop in order to be able to search for the information he/she
needs.

should he go? What will he need?
- If a person wants to be updated with current news, he/she can look for newspapers,
tabloid, listen to the radio or watch the television. For the tabloid and newspaper, he can go
to stores which sells it. He’ll need a mobile device to search for places to buy newspaper or
tabloids or search current news online, radio if he wants to listen to it or television if he
wants to watch news.

Equip with the knowledge discussed above and using any devices available at your
disposal. Capture one of any of the current scenes and let a friend see what you have
captured by sending it to his (her) device by any means possible. With this, answer the
questions. Do not fail to submit output to the teacher.

1. What media have you used to comply with the direction above?

- To be able to send the captured photo to my teacher, I used Facebook

Messenger. It was what was written in the direction and it was also the most
convenient media to use.

2. What technology device/s have you used?

- To capture the photo and send it to my teacher, I used my mobile device and
to edit the photo, I used a laptop.

technology, I think anyone could have done it. Almost everyone has their
own mobile device so it’ll be easy to capture photos. Almost everyone has a
Facebook account so it wouldn’t have an access to technology tools and
media and for those who do not have sufficient knowledge about it.

ASSIGNMENT
Direction: Answer the questions provided. Write the answer in your notebooks.

1. What are the uses of media and information?

- Basically, information, depending on the situation, can provide us knowledge about a
certain aspect and the media serves as the catalyst in order to disseminate the information.
For example, how the esperts and the government were able to provide information about
the COVID-19. Through news from television, radio newspaper and social media platforms,
the information about the cause symptoms up to the measure against COVID-19 were able
to reach the people. With the responsible use of these two, an effective communication can
be stablished.
2. What are the responsibilities involved?
- In using media and information, we must be able to make sure that the media we choose
is appropriate and the information we gathered is legitimate and is necessary. Effective
communication isn’t solely about using media and information but most especially being
accountable with the legitimacy of the information, range covered by the dissemination and
even how the receiver responds and reacts to the information and media used.
3. How can we be a responsible user?

- Being a responsible user of media and information requires critical thinking. If we don’t
carefully choose a media and analyze information, it may lead to a misunderstanding
between you and the receiver. We must know how to choose and analyze media and
information depending on the time, place, situation, necessity and most especially the
audience or the receiver. This requires our judgement and evaluation before proceeding to
the process of communication or dissemination.
