TASKs
1. Differentiate factual/nonfictional aspect and creative aspect in creative nonfiction.

FACTUAL/NONFICTIONAL ASPECT
 Is a written work’s feature which elements of fiction and poetry are applied and is
factual and truthful.
 The stories told in nonfiction works must be true. If something in the story is
made-up, then it falls under fiction. Nonfiction must also contain facts, which are
information that can be proved to be true.

CREATIVE ASPECT
 Is a written work’s feature which is a product of the writer’s imagination. It is also
based on truth.

2. Explain “The Nonfiction Contract” in not more than 5 sentences.

THE NON-FICTION CONTRACT

 This is a basic agreement between the writer and the reader that writer shall
present the facts without fictionalizing any part of their story. They may interpret,
bring their own experience to bear, in telling the story, but they must keep the
story grounded. For their part, the reader will open their mind to what the writer
is saying.

CHOOSE A POINT OF VIEW

 In my own words, point of view is the perspective from which a speaker or writer
recounts a narrative or presents information. Also known as a viewpoint. The
POV of a story is how the writer wants to convey the experience to the reader.
Point of view (POV) is what the character or narrator telling the story can see (his
or her perspective). Depending on who the narrator is, he/she will be standing at
one point and seeing the action. This viewpoint will give the narrator a partial or
whole view of events as they happen. If you are telling a story from the writer's
perspective, use the first-person point of view to provide a sense of intimacy. To
direct the writing at the reader, say, for a recipe or speech, use the second person
as a way to separate the writer from the narrative. To tell the story from an
outside perspective, with the ability to have an overview of the piece, use the third
person.
PERFORMANCE TASK
TASK 1
1. What is the text about?

 It is all about the virus, COVID 19 and its effect to mankind

2. From what point of view is the text written? Would it make a difference if the text
were written from a different perspective? Why or why not?

 The text is written from the first person point of view, I think Yes, because it
consider the perspective of the character in a different context, and by changing
that context, the way the story develops in the reader’s mind changes.

3. What are the factual/nonfictional aspects present in the message?

FACTUAL/NONFICTIONAL ASPECTS
 You claimed thousands of lives and infected hundreds of thousands of people
across the world.
 We constructed large and beautiful bridges, built monumental towers, statues
and sacred places for worship which people visited for centuries.
 We made airplanes and travelled in each corner of the world.
 We developed astronomical science, built rockets and travelled in space.
 We even set our footprint on the moon.
 Capitalist are the ones who contribute immensely to our economic growth and
provide millions of jobs.
 Over the years, as medical science developed, our life span increased, and we
started taking things for granted.

4. What are the creative aspects of the text? What makes you say so?

 The letter is addressed to something that is absent. The author employs

apostrophe in the text.
 The inanimate thing, Corona is personified. (Personification)
