1.0 AIM
1.1 To cater for the welfare needs of the Members.

2.0 WELFARE COMMITTEE AND ITS MEMBERSHIP

2.1 A Welfare Committee shall be established to implement the guidelines in the


Welfare Policy.

2.2 The Committee shall consist of the following Nine (9) Members;
 Chairman-He/she shall be an Elder, Deacon or Deaconess
 1st Vice –Chairman- He/she shall be an Elder, Deacon or Deaconess
 2nd Vice-Chairman-He/she shall be the Associate Pastor
 Secretary-He/she shall be the Treasurer of the Church
 Leader of the Women’s Fellowship
 Leader of the Music Ministry
 Leader of the Youth Ministry
 Leader of the Children’s Ministry
 Leader of the Men’s Fellowship

2.3 Appointment and Induction of Members of the Committee shall be the sole
responsibility of the Senior Pastor, acting in consultation with the Church Board of
Trustees.

2.4 Members of the Committee shall serve for an initial One (1) year term, and
may be extended up to Three (3) terms, subject to satisfactory performance.

3.0 REPORTING LINE

3.1 The Committee shall report directly to the Senior Pastor and the Church Board
of Trustees.

4. 0 AREAS OF OPERATION OF THE WELFARE COMMITTEE
 The Welfare Committee shall be responsible for ensuring that the following
activities of the Church are carried out from beginning to the end;
4.1 MONTHLY FOODSTUFF PROVISION FOR THE MISSION HOUSE (PAPA’S
HOUSE)
 This shall be done on the last Sunday of every month. Church Members shall
be encouraged to bring foodstuff only eg cassava, yam, rice, milo, etc.
4.2 ANNUAL DONATION/VISITATION TO ORPHANS, WIDOWS AND PRISONERS
This shall be done at least once (1) every year
4.3 SENIOR PASTOR’S APPRECIATION DAY
This day shall coincide with his Birthday-10th May. On that day, Church Members
are encouraged to give gifts in the form of cash or non-cash to the Senior Pastor.
4.4 SENIOR PASTOR’S HOUSING NEED
 The Committee shall set up a separate bank account into which 30% of cash
generated from the Church’s Annual Harvest will be deposited for the sole
purpose of serving as contribution to the Senior Pastor’s rent for that year.

 The remaining 70% of the revenue from the Harvest shall be used entirely for
Church Projects and shall be deposited into the Church’s Main Account.

 In future, the Committee will be tasked with fundraising to build a Mission


House for the Senior Pastor and his family. This will ensure he has his peace of
mind to attend to the spiritual needs of the Church Members.
4.5 ANNUAL GET-TOGETHER
 This shall be organized once every year, in December.
4.6 CHILD BIRTH-NAMING/OUTDOORING AND DEDICATION
 The Church shall attend outdooring of children from a recognized spouse or
Member who has been paying his/her dues for not less than 3 months

 Donation on each occasion shall be GHC150.00 cash and GHC150.00 worth of
gift items.

 Unmarried Members shall not be permitted to name their child in the Church
premises. Naming can be done in their houses but notwithstanding permitted
to perform their Thanksgiving in Church.
 One (1) month prior notice must be given to the Church.
4.7 MARRIAGE (ENGAGEMENT OR WEDDING)
 Amount to be given to the Church Member(s) shall be GHC300.00

 There shall be a mandatory counselling session for 2 months

 A 1 month prior notice must be given to the Church

 The would-be couple must bear the cost of the Senior Pastor’s Travelling and
Transport during the counselling period

 A mandatory Lab Test must be done for the would-be couple at their own cost
4.8 FUNERAL
 The church shall attend funeral ceremony of a Member who has been paying
his/her dues for not less than 3 months

 Amount that shall be donated include


* Biological Mother/Father--GHC500.00
* Legitimate spouse who are Members---The church shall bear the Casket Cost
---If not a Member, donate only GHC500.00
* Biological Child-----GHC500.00
--Non-biological Child—GHC200.00
* The family of a deceased Member—

--GHC500.00 to widow/widower, if the deceased was married
--GHC200.00 to the family Members, if the deceased was not married
 A 1 month prior notice must be given to the Church
4.9 ILL-HEALTH
 A Member who suffers from severe illness requiring major surgery or a week’s
hospitalization shall be given a donation of GHC500.00

 The Member must have paid his/her dues for not less than 3 months

4.11 SENIOR PASTOR’S MONTHLY SALARY OR ALLOWANCE


 When the financial situation of the Church improves, the Senior Pastor shall be
paid a monthly salary or allowance.

 This is the practice in several churches

4.12 ASSOCIATE/JUNIOR PASTORS’ MONTHLY SALARY OR ALLOWANCE


 When the financial situation of the Church improves, the Associate and Junior
Pastors shall be paid monthly salary or allowance.

 This is the practice in several churches


4.13 ASSOCIATE/JUNIOR PASTORS’ APPRECIATION DAY
 This shall be organized on 25th December of every year.
 It is meant to demonstrate our love towards them

4.14. HOSPITALITY OF GUEST PREACHERS, ETC


 This include invited preachers and other guests
 Their accommodation need, food, etc.

4.15 FAREWELL
 This shall be organized for Pastors of the Church on transfer, retirement or
who have decided to go set up their own church.

 A donation of GHC500.00 shall be given

 A special fundraising or offering will also be collected and given to the


departing Pastor
4.16 DISASTER
 A donation of GHC300 shall be given to a Member who suffers from a disaster
such as fire outbreak or flood

 No donation shall be made to a Member who lives in a flood -prone area

4.17 EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL TRAINING SUPPORT


 In future, the Church shall financially support Members who are undergoing
vocational training such as tailoring, bead making, soap making etc

4.18 FINANCIAL AID (SOFT LOAN)


 In the near future, when the financial situation of the Church improves, soft
loan shall be given to Members who operate small businesses.
5.0 MEETINGS OF THE COMMITTEE
5.1 The Committee shall meet as and when need be to discuss issues affecting
Members and to plan the Church’s role in activities such as weddings and
funerals.

6.1 Financial support for the Committee’s work shall come from the
 Membership Dues
 The Church’s Main Account
 Cash generated from Monthly Appeal For Funds dubbed ‘KOFI NE AMA’

7.0 AMENDMENT OF THE WELFARE POLICY


7.1 The Policy may be amended only with the approval of half of the total
members of the welfare committee plus the Senior Pastor and the full Church
Board of Trustees.
