CONSTITUTION OF THE

PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH OF GHANA,

TRINITY CONGREGATION SESSION WELFARE

ASSOCIATION-NKURAKAN

1. PREAMBLE

WHEREFORE, the Trinity Congregation Session-Nkurakan members of the


Presbyterian Church of Ghana have decided that it would be a good idea to
organize and create an Association in order to promote and work for the welfare of
its members.

This Constitution is adopted and given to ourselves by the aforementioned


ORGANIZATION's members in order to govern the ASSOCIATION.

An organization called "Trinity Congregation Session Welfare Association-Nkurakan"


shall be founded.

2. AIMS & OBJECTIVES


2.1. The aims and objectives of the Welfare Association are;
i. To encourage solidarity and collaboration between Church members.
ii. To assist and support members in any of the following situations:
a. Bereavement
b. Marriage
c. Transfers
3. MEMBERSHIP
3.1. Membership of the Welfare Association shall be for everyone on Session.

4. CESSATION OF MEMBERSHIP
4.1. A member ceases to be a member of the Association upon departure, transfer, or
death.
5. GOVERNANCE STRUCTURE
5.1. The Association shall be governed by a four-member committee elected/appointed
among members.
5.2. The 4-member committee shall be the:
i. Senior Presbyter
ii. Clerk
iii. Financial Secretary, and
iv. Treasurer

6. TENURE OF OFFICE
6.1. The committee's term of office shall run concurrently with the duration of the
current session.
6.2. At the start of each new session, a new committee must be established.

7. ALLOWANCES
7.1. Throughout their term in office, the committee will not receive any monthly
compensation or allowances.
8. DISCHARGE TO THE WELFARE FUND
8.1. The fees and expenditures associated with running and managing the Welfare
Association shall be covered by the FUND.

9. MEETINGS OF THE ASSOCIATION


9.1. At the request of the Senior Presbyter, any issue pertaining to welfare shall be
discussed during regular session meetings.
9.2. The conclusions reached after the deliberations shall be binding.

10. FINANCES OF THE WELFARE ASSOCIATION


10.1. The Welfare Association shall be funded via:
i. Ten Ghana Cedis (GH¢10.00) in monthly dues, which each member is
responsible for paying every two weeks. The Treasurer/Financial Secretary
must receive payment of this sum on the days of each session's meetings.
ii. Any other sources.
10.1.1.These funding sources are occasionally subject to review.
10.2. Bankers: The monies of the Association shall be placed in Upper Manya Kro Rural
Bank, Koforidua Branch.
10.3. Signatories: The following officers shall at all times be the signatories to the
account:
i. The Senior Presbyter, as the lead signatory
ii. The Financial Secretary
iii. The Treasurer

10.4. In addition to the lead signatory, the Financial Secretary or Treasurer SHALL
sign checks for bank withdrawals.
11. STATEMENT OF ACCOUNTS
11.1. The Treasurer/Financial Secretary shall read the statement of accounts to the
membership every six months.
12. BENEFITS
12.1. Loans: Lending to members using Association funds is strictly prohibited.
12.2. Marriage: Three Hundred Ghana Cedis [GH¢300.00].
12.2.1. Only valid unions will be acknowledged.
12.2.2. There shall only be ONE [1] marriage recognized.
12.3. Bereavement
12.3.1.The various funeral donations that shall be made by the Association are;
i. A Member - GH¢ 300.00
ii. Legitimate Spouse - GH¢ 300.00
iii. A Child - GH¢ 300.00
iv. Father and Mother - GH¢ 300.00

12.4. Transfers
12.4.1. A departing member or a transferee after a period of service will be given a
parting of Two Hundred Ghana Cedis [GH¢ 200.00].
12.4.2. When a member of the association has been expelled or dismissed from the
Session, the aforementioned rule DOES NOT APPLY.

12.5. Get-Together: A get-together celebration for members will be planned at the


conclusion of each ecclesiastical year based on the strength of the Welfare Fund.

13. QUALIFICATION FOR BENEFIT


Three [3] months following its promulgation, a member will be eligible for any of the
aforementioned benefits.

14. REVIEW OF BENEFITS
The committee may review the benefits rates therein by taking into account the
overall economic climate, the unique circumstances of the beneficiary(s), as well as
the expected influx of resources into the Fund.

15. EFFECTIVE IMPLEMENTATION DATE


16.1. The effective implementation date for this CONSTITUTION is 01st January 2023.
16.2. Six [6] months following its first reading to Session members, THIS CONSTITUTION
shall take effect with regard to the benefits mentioned above.
