1.) What type/s of waste that Lean Approach targets to eliminate is/are present in the case?

Type of wastes the newly hired manager tried to eliminate are:

o Employees' schedules are always changing, posing a problem. Changing shifts causes
long periods of little or no productivity, which has become an expensive and damaging
practice.
o The manufacturing process takes longer because the inputs for car production are
located far away from the actual production units.

2.) What is the most effective Lean Approach tool/technique that should be employed to resolve the
problem areas in the Automotive Company?

Kaizen approach, which means "continual improvement," is the most effective Lean Approach
strategy to apply. Processes must be continuously improved to remove waste and increase efficiency,
according to the Lean Approach. The goal of Kaizen is to improve every phase of the process on a daily
basis. Kaizen is a Japanese term that refers to creating modest improvements throughout the day, every
day. It's critical for businesses to have a system and process in place to help them run smoothly.
Maintaining a successful service by making regular improvements assures that your consumers will
return for more.
