Amazon is taking a comprehensive, science-based

strategy to decreasing carbon emissions and increasing
efficiency across its operations.

Amazon is on track to powering their operations with

100 percent renewable energy by 2025, five years
ahead of our original target of 2030, as part of their
ambition to reach net-zero carbon by 2040. We became the world’s largest corporate buyer of
renewable energy in 2020, with a 65 percent renewable energy usage across the board. Amazon has
hundreds of world-class facilities in cities all over the world that serve our customers and contribute to
their communities. They’re creating buildings that will help the industry get to net-zero emissions, while
also boosting resource efficiency and putting the health and welfare of their residents first.

Corporate Governance

Amazon has placed more importance on the long term from the start, and as a result, they may
make decisions and assess tradeoffs differently than other companies. As a result, it’s critical for
shareholders to grasp the company’s core management and decision-making style, so they can make
sure it aligns with their own investment philosophy. Amazon stated that they will continue to put its
customers first. Make aggressive investment decisions based on long-term leadership rather than short-
term profit margins. Work hard to keep their lean culture and invest wisely. Hire and keep diverse and
talented individuals, and give them significant equity ownership rather than cash remuneration. Amazon
is a big believer in their stockholders' long-term interests being inextricably tied to the interests of their
customers. They believe that if they do their jobs correctly, today’s customers will buy more tomorrow,
and they will gain additional customers in the process, resulting in increased cash flow and long-term
value for their shareholders.
