Nickname: New Wave City, Little Rome of the Philippines, City of All Seasons
The City of Lipa was formerly recognized as the world’s coffee capital. It is now referred to as the “Little
Rome of the Philippines,” as it is home to a number of Catholic churches, convents, seminaries, Catholic
schools, and retreat houses.
Lipa, or the City of Lipa, is a first-class component city in the Philippines’ Batangas province. It has a
population of 372,931 inhabitants, according to the 2020 census.
It is the province’s first city charter, and it is one of Batangas’ four cities, along with Batangas City, Santo
Tomas, and Tanauan. It is the most populated city in Batangas, located 78 kilometers (48 miles) south of
Manila.Access to Batangas City and Metro Manila is provided by the Southern Tagalog Arterial Road
(STAR) and the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX).
