TAGAYTAY CITY
Tagaytay is a 2nd class component city in the
province of Cavite, Philippines. It is one of
the country's most popular destinations for domestic tourism because of its scenery and
cooler climate provided by its altitude. Tagaytay is relatively close to the capital city of
Manila, providing an easy escape for the locals from the heat of the huge metropolis.
According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 85,330 people. The main currency
used in Tagaytay is the Philippine Peso (PHP). Most of the residents of Tagaytay (93.58%)
speak the Tagalog language. The second most used dialect in Tagaytay is Bicolano, which
is spoken by 1.52% of the residents. Someone that is famous in that city is Maria Jolina
Perez Magdangal-Escueta is a Filipino singer, actress, television presenter, and
entrepreneur. She is referred to in the Philippines as the Queen of Pinoy Popular Culture
(simply, Pop Icon) and is often regarded as one of the most successful multi-media artists
in Philippine entertainment. She now lives in Tagaytay with her family. The famous
landmark in Tagaytay is the Taal Volcano. Reputed to be the smallest active volcano in the
world, is visible at dining establishments and other attractions. It overlooks Taal Lake in
Batangas and provides views of Taal Volcano Island in the middle of the lake through
various vantage points situated in the city.

Tagaytay is also a popular spot for weddings because of its beautiful vistas that form the backdrop of premium hotels and resorts such as
Taal Vista, Summit Ridge Tagaytay, and Crosswinds Resorts Suites. For couples who desire more traditional church weddings, Tagaytay has
no shortage of churches and houses of worship such as the Our Lady of Lourdes Church and Tierra de Maria. A dish Tagaytay is known for is
bulalo, a hearty soup made from beef and marrow, which is perfect for the area’s crisp and chilly climate. These are only a few tidbits of
Tagaytay’s rich and colorful culture and history. All of these make Tagaytay more than just a weekend escape, and into a true haven for
the urban Filipino.
