j Blackheath Muste Appreciation Group wish THE SOUNDS OF MUSIC HORNS AND WOODWINDS ACROSS THE CENTURIES From Easter till Summer Matthew Taylor will be giving a series of eleven lectures based upon the five main wind instruments and their history. Many composers have reserved their most poetic, personal and enduring works when writing for wind instruments Mozart, Brahms, Debussy, Strauss are obvious examples. This course will embrace some of the greatest music for winds and for horns from Bach to the present day. There will be opportunities to hear concerti, chamber music, duos and solos. Join us for this very special wind and horn celebration These lectures will alternate between two venues, Blackheath Halls and All Saints ‘Church on the Heath at 10 am on Mondays as you will see from the colour charted dates. Lectures can be attended separately or booked for the term.
