With great interest, I am applying for the 2nd Grade position at Julian Thomas Elementary School. At the
University of Wisconsin Parkside, I recently graduated and obtained my Bachelors of Science Degree in
Elementary Education with a minor certification in English as a Second Language. When I began my journey
at the University of Wisconsin Parkside and joined the Teacher Education Program four years ago, I was
placed in local Racine and Kenosha area schools working closely with students and mentor teachers of
diverse backgrounds and walks of life. From there, my dedication to teaching and guiding students within
the classroom grew.
My goal is to encourage students to motivate students to channel their inner strengths and individualize my
instruction to meet each child’s unique needs. It is my hope that I will be able to do so with my creative,
positive energy accompanied with my drive and willingness to work with others to achieve a common goal.
My years of experience within each of my clinical placements, and most recently my time as a Designated
Building Substitute for Julian Thomas, have given me a strong work ethic in and out of the classroom,
allowed me to become an effective communicator with staff and students alike, and have prompted me to
further understand the importance of developing strong relationships with students as the foundation of
the classroom. I believe that these skills, along with my passion to foster a climate of inclusion grounded
upon differentiating instruction to meet the needs of all learners within the classroom, make me an ideal
candidate for the 2nd Grade teaching position at Julian Thomas.
I believe that I would be a great fit for the 2nd Grade position. Thank you for your time and consideration. I
look forward to hearing back from you soon.
Sincerely,
Nina Musurlian
