1. Open to all DMMMSU-SLUC College of Education Students.
2. Interested participants must register to this link: (insert link for registration). 3. The poem shall be on free-form and the language to be used is English. 4. The entry must depict the theme: (insert the theme). 5. The entry must be submitted to (insert the gmail to be used for submission) as a PDF file on or before February 23, 2021 until 5:00 in the afternoon. The subject of the e-mail should be the title of the poem and the last name of the contestant. 6. Entries must be suitable for publication to a general audience and must not contain anything that is defamatory, sexually explicit, and/or obscene words and representations. 7. Each participant should submit ONE entry only. 8. Must follow the following format: Arial Font Type, 12 Font Size, Singlespacing, and Normal Margin. 9. The poems will be judged with the following criteria: Relevance to the theme 20% (The message of the poem is related with the theme) Content and Writing Conventions 30% (The subject and construction of ideas are clear, complete and well developed) Creativity and Style 30% (The writer’s ability to use various writing techniques) Originality 20% TOTAL 100%
10. LYDC reserves the right not to accept or disqualify entries that do not follow the given guidelines. The decision of the Board of Judges is final and irrevocable.
