The Metaverse is here.

Those were the days when we sat back on our chair playing Mario, Tekken, GTA, etc., and enjoying
the gaming interface by gazing at the coin falling after hitting the brick, Mr.Mario, or driving a car with
Liberty in the GTA vice city. We used to fox-giggle by thinking, "If I was inside this game, I would have
managed to rule over the whole city ."What do you say? Am I right about the wishes?
I had this wish when I was a kid "If I was Bheem, there would be no one who could even dare to
defeat me hahaha! *litttle devil laugh* ".

I am incredibly interested in the virtual world. My folks, you all have this Liberty to do anything. You!
You….. wanna dance? please bring it to fruition! , date any girl? Cause it!. All of your childhood
dreams to crush this monster, run like a sonic hedgehog, fight like a ninja, everything is possible in this
dimension, your honor!.
you can create your avatar, go shopping, rocknroll in your fav popstar concert…
It blossoms forth your imagination to a whole new level.

From the starting of the crisp when Facebook changed its name to Metaverse, The term Metaverse
signifies META- beyond, VERSE- universe. It acquainted us with the new, very upcoming future which
crowns the virtual world. It is more like real life than today's feed-based social media; instead of
catching up on what others have been up to, you will sit right next to them.

The Metaverse is a virtual reality world where users can interact, game, and encounter a new world
with immense possibilities. AR VR tech can deep dive into this world and interact with overlaying
objects and people befitting their in-game character.

You must have heard of Neal S.'s 1992 Sci-fi novel snow crash. Yes/no? Okay, he describes Metaverse
as a dining table of virtual space that serves digital reality where humans coexist. This concept can
also be witnessed in Ernest Clines in 2011 and Ready Player One *2018 movie*.
You will be present inside a virtual world instead of watching it on the screen. A virtual universe,
that's the meta vision of Metaverse. Talking about an Avatar will be close to a natural living person,
from head to toe. It will also give you a sense of Liberty where your physical framework does not
constrain you. You can do more than that. Let me present you with an example… If you get injured
while jumping from Burj khalifa, jokes apart! If you get hurt by any means, then in all probability, the
next moment when you will enter the Metaverse, you will be able to fly above New York City, how
ironic. From text to photos, photos to videos, from reading papers and books to spending most of our
time watching videos on the Internet. A stonking and crucial part of Meta's Metaverse (try saying that
10 times fast) is presence – feeling as though you're there with another person or in another place. So
while there is no universal definition, the Metaverse has begun to take shape through shared
understandings and the feelings of shared space. With technological advancements and glorifying the
power of the New Media in the 21st century, Internet has become the hotspot of information and
entertainment for millions.

Why does it matter?

So, why should we take a step forward towards this Avante-Garde technology? Obviously, why does
anyone wants to evolve backward?
People are adopting avatar-based social gaming platforms, and the pandemic has also driven us to
find new forms of real-time interaction and co. Like Facebook, Apple, and Google are trying to figure
out the next big thing after the smartphone.
The meeting of emerging technologies that help people build on that identity, businesses, and
creators will be compelled to have a stronger focus on the ability to create a variety of 'experiences'
and take a venture for a new road ahead. Most of the time, physical interaction has the monarchy on
our lives. We are forced to live where we work, far from our family, friends, and partner, and to
minimize their 'I miss you too' texts on whatever social media platforms which ginormously lacks
physical interaction and joy of being together, now we have Metaverse (just kidding I miss you texts
will always be there).
What about data privacy?

Facebook and other social networks have been rightfully scrutinized for their bungling with
information and privacy; the effect on their users' mental health is also one such thing. Now after the
introduction of Metaverse in this world co. You can now considerably take stock of your psychological
behavior, biometric data like facial expression, etc., While being in the Metaverse. This will eventually
make their advertisement much more exceptionally targeted way than being in other apps and
scrolling your feeds.
Hiring tens of thousands of intermediators may not help foreclose the cyber bullying and harassment
faced by users , and spatial data gathered by headset surveying people's living rooms also raises sorts
of new privacy questions. Paying attention to this issue from the get-go will be necessary for both
industry insiders and regulators alike. Fortnight was just a game, but now it's more than that. It has
become a whole society of people Hanging out, attending concerts, etc... A small e.g. of the upcoming
future.
As the Metaverse expands, the laws regarding privacy and safety will be increased. India does not
have comprehensive and dedicated data protection legislation. Provisions in IT act 2000, keep
amending time to time and The IT rules, 2011 (SPDI rules) framed under its deals with the protection
of personal information (PI) and (SPDI).

Who is going to pay for it, and how?

- We might also see a return to transactional business models. The business models for these services
of the future will have a significant impact on the companies vying to build the Metaverse. Still, they
could ultimately also decide who participates in these new worlds, from small businesses to everyday
people.

The bright and ugly side of the Metaverse.

The bright side

One of the most incredible things about the Metaverse is that it will allow people to experience an
endless virtual world, where they can do things they only dreamt of using an avatar.
Just as an example, you will create your favorite relaxing spot in nature, but this nature will be virtual.
You will be able to change the scenery just as you would change the wallpaper on your laptop. It is
like the Internet on an entirely new level, 3D and fully immersive.
A more rudimentary version of the metaverse concept can be seen in the game Decentral land, an
open world where you can choose an avatar, play games, attend concerts, meet people, mine, make
NFT wearables, explore, etc.

The ugly side

In my perspective, the ugly side of the Metaverse is the separation that will happen between people
and reality. That perspective in which technology fully catches human attention, distracting us from
the real world completely. Eventually, we will become addicted to the Metaverse, and our children
will grow with it.
I also know this is an inevitable direction in the evolution of the human species. Technology is on the
urge to extend us, and technology is also our future. Even if some of us may not agree with this
direction or may not like it at all, it is where we are heading. I rest my case here, YOUR HONOUR!
