Department of Wellness – Public Health Internship Experience

Spring 2022

Overview:
The goal of the internship experience is to provide students with the ability to execute health promotion efforts on a college
campus. The Spring 2022 Internship experience will focus on health education through the use of assessing student needs to
determined programming as well as emphasize the importance of health promotion marketing.

Student Learning Objectives: At the end of the internship experience, the student will be able to:
- Develop health promotion programs and events utilizing different outreach methods (In person seminar, social media,
tabling, etc.)
- Utilize expertise of allied health professionals to better promote and educate health and wellness in target populations.
- Utilize health education theory to increase knowledge retention and application in target populations.
- Evaluate efficacy of wellness programs and use results to promote advocacy and change in target populations and
communities.
