Part 1: Marking Machine

Figure 1: Marking machine circuit

Initial Position

In the initial position, the piston rod of cylinder 1A assumes the retraced position. The pilot operated
5/2-way valve 1V3 supplies air to the piston rod end and exhausts out the cap end of the cylinder.

Step 1-2

If one of the pushbuttons is actuated, valve 1V3 reverses, and cylinder 1A advances slowly, due to valve
1V4 In the advanced position, the piston rod actuates IS4 If 1S3 is not pressed, the cylinder stays in the
normal position.

Step 3-4

After pressing 1S3 the memory valve 1V3 reverses, and cylinder rapidly returns.

Marginal condition

If pushbutton 1S3 is pressed before the cylinder makes 1S4, the return stroke cannot be initiated.

Part 3: Latching system

Initial position:
In the initial position, the piston rod of cylinder 1A assumes the retraced position. The pilot operated
5/2-way valve 1V3 supplies air to the piston rod end and exhausts out the cap end of the cylinder.

Step 1-2

If 1S1 is actuated, valve 1V3 reverses, and cylinder 1A advances slowly, due to valve 1V4 and 1V5 in the
advanced position, the piston rod stays in this position with the air coming from 1V2 and 1V3, IF 1S2 is
not pressed, the cylinder stays.

Step 3-4

After pressing 1S2 the memory valve 1V2 and 1v3 reverses, and cylinder rapidly returns.
