1) Learning to play a musical instrument is something that everyone should try. It
doesn’t matter what your age is. Whether you choose the bagpipes or the piano,
there are many benefits of learning to play music.

2) Studies have shown that learning a musical instrument is good for our brains. It
can develop concentration and memory skills and may even make us smarter. In
children, it can improve reading and mathematical skills and in adults, it may aid
healthy brain function. Anyone who has learnt to play a musical instrument will
know that the key to success is practice. You have to be disciplined and have the
determination to do regular practice.

3) Playing a musical instrument can also help you develop confidence. All the
exams, recitals and playing for family and friends can really help you learn how to
deal with nerves. Your social skills can also improve when you play a musical
instrument. You can get a group of people together to play different musical
instruments and maybe, make some lifelong friends.

4) Finally, one of the most important benefits of playing a musical instrument is


that it is fun. It is a great feeling to be able to play your favourite piece. It also
helps one forget about one’s problems. So, choose a musical instrument and start
some lessons today.
