Chinese Numerology has been around for at least 4,000 years and is based on

the Lo Shu Square as seen on the back of the tortoise as legend goes. It is not
based on the Lunar years and is easy to understand at a basic level.
There is no value or space for “zero” in Chinese astrology. For example if  your
birthdate has 0 in it then you can disregard it, as it has no significance. Only
numbers from 1 till 9 are used while assigning the numbers in the Lo Shu grid
and no person has a date of birth which shall fill all the nine squares of the Lo
Shu grid. You just need your birth date, month and year for calculations. Every
number is symbolic of certain human traits. Therefore, a person will possess the
characteristics of the numbers that are present in their birth date and the
repetition of the numbers in one square will add a different meaning to their
characteristic.
The Lo Shu grid is as given below and the placement of the numbers in your birth
date has to be done accordingly. All you have to do is to allocate the numerical
digits in your birthdate to the respective squares. For example if the birth date of
a person is 15-09-1987, you have to put it in the respective squares as below.
The person  will possess qualities related to numbers 1 (twice), number 5,
number 7, number 9 (twice). You can check the qualities from the table below.

The person can be identified as communicative yet reserved, as they will choose
when they want to talk about an issue or whether they rather be left alone. Caring
so as not to hurt anyone intentionally. Will prefer to learn through their own
experiences and not just take everything for granted. They shall possess a
critical view point so as to assess any situation from all angles
Below is a more detailed analysis for the various numbers and their recurrence in
your date of birth:

THE MIRACLES OF LAXMI-YANTRA THE L0-SHU MAGIC SQUARE
We all know that every human being wants to attain Health, Wealth & Happiness.
But inspite of best efforts very few people in the world are satisfied with their
achievements. We go to a Astrologer for changing our luck but unavailability of
exact time of birth oft proves a constraint to get accurate diagnosis of our
problems & remedies thereof.
Consultations with a Vasstu expert also does not help always; since most of us
have our limitations to make additions/alteration in the properties.

This is particularly true in case of Govt. accommodations, rented premises,

apartments, flats, society accommodations, floors etc.
Here is a simple, uncontroversial, practical, least expensive yet effective system
to understand your deeper nature, your talents and life goals, your hidden
characteristic, opportunities& challenges. It has been churned out form the deep
ocean of ancient knowledge and offer is a self-help tool, providing a way to gain
greater insight and understanding into your inner being and true nature. There is
recorded evidence of numerology's use ten thousand years ago it was in use in
our ancient cultures of Greece, China, Rome and Egypt as well.
The technique is based on a chart also shown as Loshu-Grid in Chinese
Literature. Its genesis has taken place from the Lakshmi Yantra. It is shaped like
a tortoise-just like Kachchhap, the second incarnation of Lord Vishnu; the
husband of Laxmi, the Golden of wealth, as per all Indian mythological texts.

In this grid, many groups formed by 1 to 9 numbers have been analyzed and
wonderful experience/feedback received during our practice of last 3 decades. In
this grid, the total of all numbers when they are added up vertically or straight,
horizontally, downwards, diagonally or sideways, comes to be 15 only. This grid
is also known as a miraculous (Magic Square) grid and it is also believed that it
compensates the missing energies in one's date of birth and it also enhances the
luck of the house as well as that of the person.
Let us study this grid minutely and HOW TO USE THE 'Laxmi-Yantra'
try to understand why it is so Let us, for example, take July 12, 1977 as the
important. date of birth. Put the numbers of the date of

(a) In the chart, 3 and 4 numbers (the
representatives of the wood-element) are not there. So, there will be a lack of
progress in life.
What is the remedy? To make up for the lack of numbers 3 and 4 (wood-
element), wear good quality of Rudraksha bead or any wooden bracelet and use
wooden body pen.
(b) Numbers 5 and 8 (the representatives of the earth¬ element, are not there in
the chart. So, the person concerned will not be effective in his speech and
activities. So, he or she will not be able to get success in life.
Remedy: Wear a necklace of silica. Light up a yellow bulb in the middle of the
room. Put up posters of the Himalayas or s ome other high mountain (without
showing the river or any other water-source) in the south-western corner of your
bedroom and the office. For strength and stability.
(c) Number 6 (the representative of the metal-element) is not there in the chart. It
means that the person concerned will lack friends and supporters. He or she will
have to struggle on his or her own for progress in life.
Remedy: Wear a bracelet of the yellow metal in your hand or wear a watch with
a yellow strap. Generally, women wear golden bangles or bracelet. So, they
never face this problem. Hang golden or yellow wind-chimes with five rods in the
(North-West) part of the house or the office and keep an energised yellow or
golden pyramid in the north-west.
In this chart, the entire line of 3, 4 and 8 numbers is invisible. It means that this
person will feel shy of asking for anything in his life.
From the following table, we will find out as to which element is lacking in a
particular date of birth and what is the remedy for that the chart will also give in
brief the effect of a particular direction in our day to day life.

our Karmic Lessons
Missing Number 1:
You have unlimited potential, yet you lack motivation. You need to take more initiative, be more
proactive. You need to work on your level of determination when it comes to every aspect of life:
work, relationships, anything that is important to you but takes effort to achieve or obtain. Sooner
or later, you will find yourself being forced out of your comfort zone; you will be faced with many
hard choices and will have to make decisions absent of anyone else's counsel.
You life path will often intersect with people who are difficult and strong-willed. When that
happens, you will either learn to assert your position or become their doormat. These things will
sharpen you. They will bring out the dynamic parts of your personality and give you a greater
sense of self. Try not to place too much value on what other people think of you. Your job is to
cultivate a better self-image. Believe in yourself. Trust your intuition. Try not to be a
procrastinator.

Missing Number 2:
Diplomacy and tact are not your strong suits. You will need to work on this. Be willing to be a
behind-the-scenes contributor. Learn to set goals and reach them for the sake of the
accomplishment more than the accolade. You don't need to be in the spotlight all the time. Work
on your ability to be a team player.
You need to start being more observant of other people's feelings. You have a tendency to
plough over people. Learn to stand back and let them stretch and grow. Your successes in life
will all come at the cost of you learning a thing or two about delayed gratification, patience and
cooperation. You will find yourself forced to share credit on many projects, even when you are a
major or nearly sole contributor.

Missing Number 3:
You are your own worst critic. You find the spotlight to be embarrassing, mostly because you
have already convinced yourself that everything you have to offer is somehow fundamentally
flawed. You adhere to a goal of perfectionism that is unreachable and yet you weigh all your
actions, intentions, talents, abilities and self-worth against it. In short, you need to relax. Keep on
like this and you will never get any joy out of life.
Learn how to laugh. More importantly, learn how to laugh AT YOURSELF. It is wonderful
therapy. Life is going to place you in the position of having to think creatively and come up with
out-of-the-box solutions to various problems. The trick is going to be in getting yourself to trust
your own instincts and intuitions; you are going to need to get out of your own way or this failure
complex of yours is going to escalate into a self-fulfilling prophecy. Threes are often very artistic.
If your Karmic Lesson is 3, however, success will be a long and difficult road. You will get there,
but it will be a steady, steep uphill climb.

Missing Number 4:
You feel your life is lacking direction. You don't think you are ever going to know what you want
to be when you grow up, eve though you've likely been an adult for a while. You need to set
certain ground rules for your life and stick with them. You need to set your feet on solid ground.
Set some real goals or you will never feel that your life has balance.
Find what makes you happy and just do it. There are ways to make a living doing practically
anything. Be willing to start over repeatedly if you have to. Sooner or later you will discover your
niche. When you start asking yourself questions like, “What's wrong with me?” or “Why can't I
seem to ever___?” you have the tendency to look for external answers. The problem, though, is
that these things originate within YOU so that is where you will need to look to find the answers.
Yes, this is very uncomfortable but so is never actualizing your potential.

Missing Number 5:
You lack any real sense of adventure. There is a huge world out there waiting for you to
experience all it has to offer but you are literally afraid of living. Take advantage of every
opportunity to experience things in life. Travel whenever you can. Get off the beaten path and
see this world from a different perspective than others. The things you experience will make you
more aware of yourself and will help you develop a zest for life.
Change is a difficult concept for you. You don't like it. You will therefore be forced to make
changes and adapt to them. This will necessitate you being more flexible. You tend to be very
rigid and not give new experiences a chance. Learn what you can about the concept of faith.
Remember, there are very few absolutes in life. You need to believe in something. Start with
yourself; it is the logical first step.

Missing Number 6:
You have issues committing to anything. This is true of relationships but also work projects or
maybe even a career. You come across as uncaring or emotionless. You need to let people see
your range of emotions and be more demonstrative. You might often feel alone even if you have
people around you who care about you and whom you love as well. You need to learn how to be
sincere and communicate your feelings more effectively. Life will throw many opportunities to
learn this lesson at you. Don't dodge them, face them.
You will learn how important it is to have friends and confidants and how fulfilling a lasting,
committed relationship can be. You will learn the concepts of giving and self-sacrifice. There are
few things that are more difficult to learn but also few that are of greater value.

Missing Number 7:
You tend to take an overly casual approach to certain things. You will find yourself forced to
increase knowledge and skill in at least one specific area in your life, or perhaps even one at a
time. Life may cause you to live in the same cycles until you finally “get” your lesson. You could
definitely use a slightly more self-critical attitude. Sometimes you literally think you could do no
wrong but the reality is that we all have flaws and defects. Learning to work through them is far
more beneficial than constantly working around them.
There is more to the things that occupy your life than what you see on the surface. Learn to dig
deeper, expect more and understand better

Missing Number 8:

You will find yourself in situations where hard lessons are learned by being so thick-skinned. You
will be forced to admit that you need help, especially when it comes to managing money. Help
will present itself and you will have to force yourself to accept it if you want to maintain your
standard of living. Making money will likely never be a problem for you but knowing what to do
with it will.
Missing Number 9:
You have a severe lack of empathy or compassion. Even in your own head, your thoughts often
strike you as being callous or uncaring. You need to learn to give people the opportunity to fail in
front of you. This is how all of us learn and grow. Develop a sense of tolerance for other people's
limitations
Life will force you to become less egocentric and closed-minded. It will teach you how to see the
Big Picture and how each and every person and thing around you has value. You will learn that
other people's opinions matter. You will discover what it is to relate to other people's pain. You
will learn the importance of showing kindness and compassion. You will learn that there is
fulfillment in helping other people, even in seemingly small ways.
You will find yourself struggling to function within the community until you recognize that you are
part of it and it is part of you. Take the initiative to simply talk to people. Get to know them on a
more meaningful level. Don't be afraid to lend an ear to someone's story now and then. Odds are
you will learn a great deal about yourself from those experiences.
Thousands of years ago in China, the Lo River flooded, inundating the local population. The people were
desperate, and frantically made offerings and sacrifices to the river god, asking him to return the water to its
banks.

Suddenly a turtle surfaced on the river. The people saw that there was a pattern on its shell, a grid of nine
squares. Each square had dots adding up to numbers. No matter which way the dots were added across the
rows either diagonally, vertically, or horizontally, the sum was 15. The diagram was called the “Lo Shu,” or “Lo
River Writing.”

The turtle gave the people the pattern on its back as a map or grid of the natural flow of chi and the elements,
and this square with its numbers became a foundational tool in Feng Shui and Taoist traditions. The square is
also carried as an amulet or placed in homes and offices as a protective charm.

HOW TO USE THE LO SHU
Find Missing Elements by Birth Date: By laying the numbers of someone’s day, month, and year of birth over
the corresponding magic square numbers, one can see which elements are missing — those squares with no
corresponding numbers in the birth date indicate elemental imbalances. Just drop out any zeros — there is no
corresponding Lo Shu sector for zero.
These elements can be emphasized by using corresponding colors in home decor, clothing, and jewelry
choices. If, for instance, there are no fours in the birth date, the four square in the Lo Shu will be under-
emphasized. Remedies would include wearing purple or placing purple objects in the far left corner (if looking
from the front door) of the home, office, and individual rooms. Since the element is Wood, keeping a healthy
plant in that area will also help bring the lo shu into balance. Additional remedies are listed below.

Find Missing Elements in the Home: Look at the Lo Shu and imagine that the black, one square is laid over
your front door. Then imagine the grid stretching to overlay the rest of the structure — since few of us live in
perfectly square homes, there will likely be empty areas. It’s important to imagine the grid stretching to the
very back wall of the structure as well. The grid may also be overlayed on an individual room, with the entry
doorway at the black number one square. Don’t worry about actual compass directions — in the Lo Shu square,
north is always on or near the main entrance.

If the larger structure has missing elements, those can be emphasized by placing the appropriate remedies
within individual rooms in the house. For instance, if there is no “structure” in the far left back four corner,
purple amethyst or flowers may be placed in those sectors of individual room. In addition, “empty” or
“missing” spaces may be remedied by planting a garden or placing a water feature in the area.

Below are the qualities and rulerships of the squares in the Lo Shu.

1 = North: Career. Season: Early Winter. Element: Water. Colors: Dark Blue/Black

2 = Southwest: Marriage, relationships, happiness. Late Summer. Element: Earth. Color: Pink

3 = East: Family, health. Early Spring. Element: Wood. Color: Green.

4 = Southeast: Wealth and prosperity. Element: Wood. Colors: Purple, Gold.

5 = Center: Strength and stability — the home. No season. Element: Earth. Colors: Yellow, Earth Tones.

6 = Northwest: Helpful people, spirituality, foreign travel. Late Fall. Element: Metal. Colors: Grey, mauve.

7 = West: Creativity and children. Early Fall. Element: Metal. Colors: White, bright pastels.

8 = Northeast: Education and knowledge. Late Winter. Element: Earth. Colors: Blue, blue-green.

9 = South: Reputation and Fame. Early Summer. Element: Fire. Color: Red.

Below are additional personal and space remedies for missing elements and directions.

1. This northern square is the water element. Balance the element by adding a water feature — even a
small bubbler — an aquarium, or an image of flowing water. Ever notice the aquariums often seen near
the front door of Chinese restaurants?
2. The southwest square is the earth element, and the color is pink. This section has to do with love and
relationships, so placing paired objects here can help — traditionally, the Chinese will place a pair of
cloisonne mandarin ducks in this sector as these birds mate for life. Rose quartz can be placed, and
pink stones can be worn to balance the lo shu.
3. The green sector is east, and is related to the wood element. If additional support is needed, use green
plants and wooden objects. Wearing green and carrying a wooden pen are also recommended.
4. The southeast, colored purple, is also wood, but use purple here. Purple live or silk flowers, amethyst
crystals, or fabrics can help balance the chi here as well as wearing purple clothing and amethyst
jewelry.
5. This is the center — the earth. Traditionally, images of mountains without water are used, and wearing
crystals in any form or shape is recommended. Also crystal chandeliers or balls are suggested.
6. The northwest is occupied by the metal element — enhancing that chi with metal in some form is
suggested, particularly gold-colored metals. Wearing gold is recommended, as well as hanging a gold-
toned metal windchime with six rods or pipes.
7. This western sector is also metal, but relates more to silver colors. Wear a silver watch or chain, and
install a silver-toned wind chime with seven rods or tubes.
8. The northeast is occupied by the earth element. The color is blue, and crystals are used to balance chi
here, in the form of jewelry or decor.
9. The south is the fire element. Wearing red, putting a red light bulb in any fixtures in this section, or
installing a wood-burning or gas fireplace are all possible remedies.
