DPS Gurgaon, firmly believes that students learn best through an exciting, innovative and
participative environment. To ensure that the young learners enjoy the learning process while at
the same time improve their language skills, we are happy to introduce a two-week summer
course organised by the British Council.
This unique summer experience will bring the fun element into learning as well as equip children
with the necessary life skills and creativity to build confidence for a global world.

This year, the camp is being offered both online and face to face. The online Summer Camp
starts on 25th April 2022 and the face-to-face camp starts on 23rd May 2022. The course involves
15 hours of learning for children aged 6 to 17 years and 10 hours of learning and for children
aged 4 to 5 years with content adapted to each age group spread over 2 weeks.

Course themes and Learning outcomes

Theme 1: Creative Sparks


 4 to 5 years: Children will listen to a range of stories from popular fiction to spark their
imagination and will express themselves creatively through art and craft while also
developing motor skills.
 6 to 10 years: Children will listen and read a variety of fantasy fiction, will understand
the importance of writing as a process, develop grammar and vocabulary to write
confidently, will create and publish their own story.
 11 to 17 years: Children will listen and read a variety of texts on the internet of things and
smart living to compare and analyse different elements of the topic. Children will create
and present a proposal for a smart city confidently using appropriate intonation and
pronunciation.
Theme 2: Life Hackers
 4 to 5 years: Children will describe characters of a story by using appropriate vocabulary
and master the art of storytelling through speech and drama.
 6 to 10 years: Children will develop effective presentation skills by presenting and
sharing their ideas and views confidently.
 11 to 17 years: Children will improve their public speaking and critical thinking skills to
make well-reasoned arguments and learn techniques to succeed in debates.
