Section-A
There are FOUR questions in this section. Answer any THREE

Question 1:

a. The modified Isochronal test data is given below. Obtain the Deliverability Equation and
absolute open flow potential by Pressure Squared technique. (35)

Question 2:

a. Describe the Rawlins-Schellhardt Analysis Technique with proper figures and equations.

b. Describe the effect of flow systems on “n” of the empirical deliverability equations.
(10)

c. In a contactor, lean TEG concentration is 99.5% and outlet gas water content is 4lb
H20/MMscf gas. Gas inlet temperature is 100oF and operating line pressure is 1000 psig.
If gas and TEG specific gravity is 0.7 and 1.11 respectively, determine the Rich TEG
concentration from the contactor. (15)

a. Perform a comparative analysis on the absorption and adsorption dehydration process.

c. Write down the names of the natural gas distribution and marketing companies in
Bangladesh. Also indicate their franchise areas. (18)

Question 6:

a. Draw a schematic diagram illustrating the flow of natural gas from the reservoir to the
customers. (10)
b. What are the functions of Separators in a gas field? What are the types of separators
usually found in the gas fields? (10)
c. Determine the actual gas capacity of a horizontal separator having a diameter of 36 in. and
a seam to seam length of 14ft given the following operating conditions: (15)

b. Describe the sweetening process using the Iron Sponge Unit. (10)

c. Calculate the percentage change of total flow capacity (mention increase or decrease) if
the full pipeline setup shown in figure 7(c) is changed to a mono-diameter pipeline of 5”.
