Tribute to Pakistan Air Force

Brigadier S Shujah H Khurazmi (Retd) is all
praise for Pakistan Air Force

T
he news of the martyrdom of a valor-
ous pilot of Pakistan Air Force while
flying past Islamabad saddened Pa-
kistanis tremendously. Pakistan Air
Force is renowned for its expertise and commit-
ment to the defence of Pakistan and its exploits
are widely applauded by the nation. The high
standards of Air Force are maintained by dedi-
cated professionals who devote their entire lives
in honing their flying skills and other aspects of
flying.
I am very proud to be the younger brother
of an ace of Pakistan Air Force Pilot Officer Syed
Fazal Hussain Khwarizmi who was martyred
while flying Fury Jet at PAF Masroor Base in
Karachi, who was soulfully remembered by his
colleagues in the force. The martyrdom of my ex-
tremely handsome brother was deeply mourned
by our father and our family. It was my fate to
have been guided by his spirit and obtain com-
mission in Pakistan Army and to serve the na-
tion.
I closely followed the Pakistan Air Force con-
ducted ceremony at the Air Headquarters in Is-
lamabad to commemorate the first anniversary Flying high
of the 27 February ‘Operation Swift Retort’ which
resulted in the downing of two Indian planes
that had violated Pakistani airspace. Pakistan Air
Force lived up to its legacy yet again and made its
mark through professional excellence and valour.
The hallmark of this retaliatory action was that it
was prompt, measured and surprising response
busting the aggressor’s arrogance.
There is no doubt that the successes of Paki-
stan Air Force are attributed to the blessings of
Allah. Moreover, decades-long hard work, invest-
ment in PAF operational capacity by succeeding
generations and the heroic acts of its personnel
have ensured that PAF is and would remain reas- Ruling the skies
suring fundamental of national defence. It is pal-
pably evident that Pakistan is facing diversified
challenges but despite these challenges PAF has
continued on the path of professional consolida-
tion over the last two decades while it remained
focused on solidified professional training and
capability enhancement.
There is hardly any doubt that currently PAF
platforms are complemented by advance preci-
sion weaponry that illustrate successful realisa-
tion of the homegrown technological pursuits
alongside special emphasis on human resource
development and force multipliers. These are
the building blocks that have transformed the Heroic pilot Vanquished adversary
force having become the robust architecture of
Pakistan Air Force.
I know for sure that PAF is a hard-hitting
force that is totally focused on its mission. I am
fully satisfied about the preparedness of PAF to
counter threats and I am also supremely confi-
dent that it will not compromise on sovereignty
or territorial integrity of Pakistan. PAF showed
its professional superiority and lethality in Feb-
ruary action and it is always willing to repeat it.
I have been brought up in an environment
dedicated to the defence and security of the
motherland and most of my family is engaged
in activities related to furthering these sacred
goals. Pakistan is our soul and spirit and we nev-
er think twice about preserving its sanctity and
security. There is nothing more important than
devoting one’s life to the cause of our beloved
country. TW
