Application for Cadet Flying Training Course

1. I would like to apply for the 2023 Cadet Flying Training Course and gain valuable
flying training and experience. I believe I am most suited for this course due to the following:

a. As a cadet, I have shown exemplary dedication to 418SQN and 4WG. Even as a

recruit, I was motivated to be an ideal role model for my intake. I was a strong contributor
during classes and would eagerly help other peers. In addition, I would take up any
opportunity I came across to lead a group of cadets such as being a FLTCOM and having
leadership positions/roles at the squadron.

b. My motivation with the AAFC program has also allowed me to set a high example
for other cadets to look up to by constantly demonstrating impeccable leadership. On my
JNCO Promotion Course, I earned two detachment duxes including the FLTLT Loveless
Leadership Award which was awarded to the cadet who showed the best leadership over the
course of the thirteen days.

c. My favourite subject has always been Aerospace and I have attended many activities
and courses in this field including an ETW centred around the Pigmy Drone. In addition, I
have successfully passed ASR, ASB, ASP and am currently studying ASA. This has provided
me with a wide skill set in the field of aviation and aircraft recognition which has motivated
me to study further in this subject. As a result, I have gained much more knowledge than
what is expected of me and I would be proud to share this knowledge with other cadets.

d. In my time as a cadet, I have flowing in the Diamond DA40NG aircraft on the cadet
flying experience flights. I have also attended a pilot experience flight in which I was given
control of the aircraft under the direct supervision of an experienced pilot. These experiences
have sparked an interest in aviation for me and I would be honoured to be able to learn the
skills required to fly aircraft.

e. Due to my interest in aviation, I have multiple aviation-related hobbies. I am

passionate in learning the physics of flight through computer programs which simulate how
objects are affected in motion. Furthermore, I regularly go plane spotting at local airports
including RAAF Base Point Cook, and have even visited Tullamarine and Avalon Airport on

some special occasions. Most importantly, I enjoy constructing and flying RC planes and
aspire to be able to fly a real aircraft one day which the Cadet Flying Training Program can
deliver to me.

2. I have constantly demonstrated the values of the AAFC i.e. Courage, Respect,
Service, Integrity, and Excellence which has helped me achieve my goals as an individual.
My acceptance for the Cadet Flying Training Program will positively contribute to the AAFC
program whilst also creating foundations for my career path with the ADF. Please consider
me as a suitable candidate because I strongly believe myself to be an excellent candidate for
the Cadet Flying Training Course.
