CHAPTER II

Findings Analysis And Discussion

A. Learning Assessment
Top Air Cabin Crew Training Center is the one who gave me the
best experience as one of their trainee as cabin crew. They made
me become a better version of myself and teach me a lot of
things that only you will experience in Top Air. Being able to
choose this path as my On the Job Training is one of the best
decision I made so far. They help me boost my confidence, face
the reality of life, see the hardship of how you can achieve your
dreams. They were the one who mold me and let me realize to
pursue my dreams. As a trainee of Top Air Cabin Crew Training
Center, I learned that as a cabin crew you need to have
confidence within your self. No one is capable to be a flight
attendant if you are shy person and have no self-confidence. You
should learn to be confidence enough to face people with the best
smile you can give to your customer. I learned that if you want to
be a flight attendant you should know how to do your proper
grooming because no one in that field is working who don’t know
the proper grooming. On our second day of On the Job Training,
ma’am Mitch is the one who teach us how to properly do our
own makeup. As someone who works as a cabin crew before,
she told us that we need to do our own grooming so that we can
always be presentable in front of our customers. We need to be
beautiful and presentable always as we work in front of so many
people. She also teaches us how to walk properly with posture
having book on our head. It was fun doing it because it reminded
me of my pageantry days. I learned how to do the Safety
Demonstration because of ma’am Adette she teaches us how to

8
INTEGRATION

properly use the seat belt, life jacket, oxygen mask and safety
card. She demonstrated it in front of us so that we learn how to do
it when we are graded individually. Because I’m a fast learner I
already learn how to properly do the Safety Demonstration,
that’s why it was easy for me when we perform it inside the
aircraft. As a future cabin crew who are being trained at Top Air
Cabin Crew Training Center we also learn how to do the
Emergency Evacuation Drill which is to help the passenger to
stay calm when the aircraft experience a problem we are the one
who are responsible for their lives that’s why we need to be
careful and extra wise when it comes to giving them instruction
because their lives are defended on us. We are the one who will
lead them to the right exit when the aircraft is about to crash.
We also learn how to use the fire extinguisher when we
encounter a fire inside the aircraft, and also how to do the jump
and slide.

Being a trainer at Top Air was extra challenging but so far

so good because it was only ten days but I do really learn a lot
what cabin crew does. I also learn that being a cabin crew
doesn’t have to be 100% fluent as a foreigner, but at least your
spoken English should be understandable and to let someone feel
that you can express yourself clearly. On our last week at Top air
cabin crew center, we learn about responsibilities should cabin
crew have. As a trainer, I learn that a cabin crew should provide
personal services to ensure the safety and comfort of airline
passengers during flight. Greet passengers, verify tickets, and
serve food and beverages. Announce and demonstrate safety
and emergency procedure. Answer passengers questions about
flight aircraft, weather, travel routes and services, arrival time,
9
INTEGRATION

and schedules. Assist passengers in

1
INTEGRATION

placing carry-on luggage in overhead, garment or under-seat

storage. Guide passengers while entering or disembarking the
aircraft. Attend preflight briefings concerning weather, altitudes,
routes, emergency procedures, crew coordination, length of flights,
food, beverages services offered, and numbers of passengers.
Check to ensure that food, beverages, blankets, reading
material, emergency equipment, and other supplies are aboard
and are in adequate supply.
Responsibilities included directing and assisting passengers
in the event of an emergency, preparing passengers and aircraft
for landing by following procedures, greeting passengers
boarding aircraft and directing them to assigned seats. Served
prepared foods and beverages, and sold alcoholic drinks.
Announced flight delays and descent preparations. We also learn
on our last day, what should a cabin crew do when we are in an
interview. Always remember that don’t forget to give your best
smile, be confident and only answer the questions given you. In
the past ten days Top Air Cabin Crew Training Center gave me
the best training that I need to experience to become a cabin
crew someday, I will assure you that this knowledge I learn will
be in my mind until I reach my goals. I will be forever thankful
not only to DPR Pats but also to my school for giving us this
opportunity to experience on how to become a cabin crew even
it was just in ten days.

B. Facility Assessment
Entrance
Before we go to our room we always need to log in at the
entrance which is to monitor who are entering the school. It's also
part of our attendance, that’s why every morning we log in our
1
INTEGRATION

names there

1
INTEGRATION

and the lady guard and 3 or 4 students of DPR PATS are monitoring
us to help the lady guard. It was the safeties and welcoming part of
the school because the lady guard and other people who are
working there are very approachable and kind.

Classroom
There are 3 classrooms available for the 3 section of trainees of
BTECH in Top Air Cabin Crew Training Center which is room 104,
105 and 106 that have the capacity for 40 per section. The
classroom is very clean and air condition it was also the facility
that we always use in the past 10 days of our training for
discussion, recitation, grooming and task that our instructors gave
us.

Cabin Mock Up Room

Mock up room is the inner part of an aircraft. It was one of the
important facility in DPR PATS because they use it for teaching
trainees and student of different schools. Its purpose is for the
trainees and students to practice in real life environment and
familiarize with actual cabin interior. The cabin mock up facilities all
cabin crew training activities from on board food and beverage
management. It was air condition and the place was very
accommodating, you can feel that you're really inside the real
aircraft. We used to go there for about 3 times, but we only took
pictures inside.

McDonnell Douglas DC-9 Aircraft

DC-9 aircraft is a retired aircraft of Cebu Pacific, it is an old
model and have the capacity of 120 passengers. On our 4th day,
we’ve given the chance to go inside the aircraft for our
1
INTEGRATION

performance of

1
INTEGRATION

safety demonstration. I was so excited because it was my first

experience being inside of a real aircraft, but when I arrive there
it was so hot that I feel suffocated. But over all it was a nice
experience. On our 6th day we go inside the aircraft for the
second time to do the Emergency Procedure and in the afternoon
we do the Jump and Slide. It was fun doing all the activities
inside and outside the aircraft, I become more passionate doing
the things that made me feel happy.

Hangar
Hangar is one of the parking area of all the aircraft of DPR
PATS. When we have the chance to tour around the hangar, I
was mesmerized to saw different kind of aircraft. We also had
the chance to saw one of their aircraft doing take off and
landing. We take so many pictures around the hangar we take
that chance to tour around and see different kind of aircraft, we
also meet some off their OJT’s as aircraft mechanics there were
assembling and fixing the aircraft. It's hot there because we're
outside the school but seeing those aircraft makes me want to
be pilot but because I’m scared maybe I’m just going to pursue to
be a flight attendant.

Annex
DPR PATS larger parking area for their aircraft it's one of their
school which a lot of the aircraft mechanics students are there
when we have our Annex Tour. They have their new aircraft
which we’ve given the chance to see and have pictures inside it
was clean and very beautiful that’s why we need to put our
shoes when we go inside. The place was so big and have a lot of
aircraft it so nice to be able to go there and saw those aircraft. I
1
INTEGRATION

think that place was

1
INTEGRATION

for graduating aircraft mechanics because we talk to one of their

student, and she was beautiful we ask if what year she is and tell us
that she’s graduating this year, that’s why I assume that some of
the students who’s there are in their last year as aircraft mechanics.
It's also hot there, but I'm enjoying touring around because the
place is very beautiful.

C. Training Assessment
Being a trainee at Top Air Cabin Crew Training Center
made me realize how many challenges in life we should face and
experience to be able to achieve what our dream job is. As part
of top air cabin crew training center, the past ten days help me
to boost my confidence, gain more knowledge and inspired me
to pursue my dreams to become a flight attendant some day.

The training enriched my confidence, created a foundation

of being a good employee someday. It caused a very huge effect
to me as Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management Student. I
was really renewed. I learned to be diplomatic in both action and
words. This training made me realize that it is excellent to know
what you’re doing and love it.

The training I spent at top air cabin crew training center is

not just about training, it helps to communicate with people. To
face the reality who are waiting for us, the training is not easy it
made me get nervous doubt myself but a lot of things happened
and help me to grow as a person. The time I spend at top air is
more than enough to help me get ready for my next journey after
graduation.

1
INTEGRATION

I learned so many things when I arrive at top air cabin crew

training center, they made me who I am today. The confidence
that I didn’t expect I would be able to gain, how proud I am of
my self because of that. When I’m just starting to study as
a Tourism Student, I am aware of how shy I am as a person. I need
to build my self-confidence and self-esteem just to be able to talk
to someone and when I’m at the top air in just ten days I build the
confidence that I’ve been working for years. I’m so proud of
myself for having the confidence to face other people and be
friendly with my classmates.

Those ten days are not just ten days for me, I gain something
that I can be proud of I learn something that I can share with
anyone. Being a cabin crew is not easy, but knowing how hard to
get there is what I want to achieve. The training is very helpful not
only for me but for every one of us because we can use it in our
everyday lives leaning how to properly do the safety
demonstration, emergency procedure, safety equipment, fire drill
and jump and slide. The things we've learned at top air are very
important because I know that we can apply those learning in
our everyday lives, not only as cabin crew.

As a student, what can I do for now is to learn whatever I

can, be inspired, love the path I am taking, and do my best in
everything I do, with a positive outlook in mind.

I realized that I should be more focused on myself and do

everything heartily and with all that I can. It is also very warm to
the

1
INTEGRATION

heart to know that you have accomplished something and even

warmer when there are people who are so proud of what you
have done, and I felt this during my On the Job Training.

It inspired me to be more determined and competitive in

everything that I do in my daily life as a student today and as a
professional someday. My On the Job Training is very helpful and
will be very helpful to me as I continue to take my journey as a
fourth year student in the field of Tourism Management. It really
gave me a taste of the real world, a glimpse of what lies ahead
after I graduate.

understand if she was strict. I know that she just want here trainee
to learn and understand her. She just wants us to be passionate
when it comes to studying, you can really see in her eyes that she
want us to learn, adapt and focused. She is someone who give
her best to teach us how to become a good cabin crew.

CHAPTER III

Conclusion

The experience I’ve felt for the past ten days wouldn’t be able
to complete without the help, knowledge, learning, and passion of my
three beautiful, kind, heartwarming instructors Mrs. Michelle Doming,
Mrs. Monisa Sheila Lacsamana, and Mrs. Berdita Cuizon, who teach us
to become a better version of ourselves and who help me become
confident enough to achieve my dreams.

Being able to adapt Personality Development as a future cabin

crew is a big help for me. Because that made me who I am today. I
become a dreamer once again because of all the knowledge and
experience I’ve learned when I’m a trainee at Top Air Cabin Crew
Training Center.

I experience how to be a cabin crew in just ten days and I’m so

happy and proud of myself for choosing that decision. I’m far away
from my dreams but I’m far away from all the challenges I’ve
experienced for the past 4 years of my college life.

I wouldn’t be able to come this far because of myself. All the

learning and training that I experienced at Top Air Cabin Crew Training
Center will be in my mind until I reach my goal to become a Flight
Attendant someday. Wishing and praying for everyone to see you on
board.
