Designing

a Hook Experience

Lesson Overview: How do you anticipate the children will explore with the materials? What do you think
they will do?

I think that the students will be interested in the materials because I am using ones that they have used
before, a ball. I am using the ball on the large hill outside to discuss how fast the ball will roll down on the
hill and if they think the grass will effect the speed.

Lesson Plan Objectives: what will the children be learning or gaining from this experience?

Children will be learning how speed works as well as how certain factors can a ect how fast an object moves.

Expected Outcomes: what do you anticipate the children will learn from this experience?

I believe that they children will learn how certain natural elements can e ect how fast an object moves and
how they can incorporate that into their everyday lives.

Assessment: what does this experience reveal about children’s prior knowledge?

This will reveal what a child knows about how certain objects are transported from place to place. Also, how
objects may adapt to their surroundings in terms of how they move.
