1. Ôn tập về dạng quá khứ đơn của động từ

Lưu ý:

- Past 2 (P2): Động từ quá khứ nằm ở cột 2 trong bảng động từ bất quy tắc.

- Ở thể phủ định và nghi vấn, chúng ta mượn trợ động từ did chia tất cả các chủ ngữ
(số ít hay số nhiều). Động từ còn lại trong câu phải ở dạng động từ nguyên thể.

- Trong thì quá khứ đơn giản, chủ ngữ dù ở dạng số nhiều hay số ít động từ đều được
chia như nhau.

2. Cách chia động từ ở dạng khẳng định

a) Đối với những động từ có quy tắc thì thêm ed vào sau động từ đó (Các em nên thom
khảo quy tắc thêm ed ở động từ có quy tác):

Ex: play (chơi) -> played (đã chơi)

watch (xem) -> watched (đã xem)

dance (nhảy, múa) -> danced (đã nhảy, múa)

b) Đối với những động từ bất quy tắc thay đổi không theo quy tắc nào thì ta dùng động
từ ở cột thứ 2 (P2) trong bảng động từ bất quy tắc. Các em cần phải học thuộc hoặc tra
bảng động từ bất quy tắc.

3. Cách phát âm động từ “ed” (Verb-ed hay V-ed)

- Phát âm là /id/ khi động từ tận cùng bằng hai phụ âm /t/, /d/.

wanted (muốn)/ wa:ntid/; needed(cần)/'ni:did/

- Phát âm là /d/ khi động từ tận cùng bằng các phụ âm hữu thanh /b/, /g/, /v/, /z/, /3/,
/dy/, /ð/, /m/, /n/, /η/, /I/, /r/ và các nguyên âm.

Ex: loved (yêu); closed (đóng); changed (thay đổi); travelled (đi du lịch)

/lʌvd/ /kloʊzd/ /tʃeɪndʒd/ /'traevld/

- Phát âm là /t/ khi động từ tận cùng bằng các phụ âm vô thanh /p/,/k/,/f/,/s/,/∫/,/t∫/.

Ex: stopped (dừng lại); looked (nhìn); laughed (cười); watched (xem)

/sta:pt/ /lukt/ /laeft/ /wa:tjt/

4. Một số từ/cụm từ chỉ thời gian trong quá khứ

then (sau đó); ago (cách đây);

Yesrerday (hôm qua); in 1990 (vào năm 1990);

at that time (vào thời đó); in 2010 (vào năm 2010);

last month (tháng trước); last year (năm ngoái);

last week (tuần trước); last summer (mùa hè vừa qua);

last weekend (ngày nghỉ cuối tuần trước).
