Watch Out DR.Pimple Popper

The branch of medicine concerned with the diagnosis and treatment of skin disorders.
Dermatology is the medical field I want to get into because you can never learn enough
about skin. I like to help people in ways they can’t help themselves, I was pretty
surprised about the salary, and also the amount of classes I have to take at Northern
Oklahoma College to get to a medical school.

I like to help people in ways they can’t help themselves such as care when they
are sick or just can’t bear pain. For example, When ordinary people try to diagnose
themselves that usually doesn’t turn out good because they just think that it’s an
ordinary pimple or black head. For example, with me I had a back pimple that I just
thought was just any old back pimple, so I popped it. But then I realized it would
always seem to grow back. So, I went to my doctor, and she said that it was a cyst and
no matter how many times I popped the pimple that I thought it was, it wouldn't matter
because there was a sack wall around it. Therefore, it wouldn’t go away unless a
procedure was done to remove the sac wall. I think that I would best fit in this medical
field because I always want to go above and beyond for people when it comes to care.
This includes, during covid the whole household was sick. The only symptoms I had
that occurred were my sense of smell and my taste was gone. I was still taking care of 5
plus people giving them medication, vitamins, cough drops, and all things of the sort. It
was very difficult and unfortunate that I lost my uncle during covid in 2020. I was
devastated. I felt like there was nothing I could do. Despite how I was feeling and my
emotions I still continued to provide for my family the best way I could. That’s why I
feel as if I would be a great dermatologist.

The salary for a dermatologist is pretty shocking honestly. On average a median

of 50% of dermatologists worldwide make around 425,509 dollars a year. About 5% of
dermatologists earn between $100,000 and $150,000 a year, a further 5% earn from
$150,000 to $200,000 a year, and 18% make between $200,000 and $250,000 a year.
That’s more than enough pay for me in my opinion because that’s more money than a
pediatrician makes. I want to work in my own private practice. That's where the real
money comes in. I want to own my own property and have doctor’s come and work for
me.I know that I could stay true to that income but to get there first I have to take
certain classes.

The support I get from my school is amazing. The school sets me on the right
track to get all of my basics and sciences out of the way. According to the 2021-2022
degree sheet this is what they suggest. General Education Courses - 37 Total Credit
Hours English Composition Courses ENGL 1113 English Composition I 3 hours ENGL
1213 English Composition II 3 hours History & Government Courses HIST 1483
Amer. History to 1877 3 hours (or) HIST 1493 Amer. History Since 1877 POLI 1113
American Government 3 hours Humanities Courses Electives 6 hours One 3 hour
course to be chosen from those listed with the International Dimension and 3 hours of
humanities electives. Mathematics Courses MATH 1493 Math Applications 3 hours
(or) MATH 1513 Algebra for STEM Science Courses One Biological Science with Lab

Orientation Courses ORNT 1101 Freshman Orientation 1 hour General Education
Elective Courses 4 hours Select courses from: Language Arts, Natural Sciences,
Foreign Languages, Fine Arts, Humanities, Mathematics, Behavioral or Social
Sciences. I would need a total of 60 credit hours to graduate with my complete
associate's degree in science. But what might prevent me from getting all 60 credit
hours in 4 years is failing some classes and having to retake them. I know biology isn’t
my strong suit. I really struggle in that class like a lot. I've never been good at science
or math. I definitely have to step my game up in those fields if I want to make it far.

In conclusion, I have no doubt in my mind that I could do this job effortlessly

with the support of intuition. From caring for people practically my whole life. It’s
almost as if it’s my life calling. Watch out Dr.Pimple Popper here I come.
