As a high school student, my journey toward a future in medicine has been guided by a fusion of

intellectual curiosity, empathetic engagement, and an unyielding desire to heal. In medicine, I see a
purposeful and versatile vocation, yet what I love most is its fusion of a scientific core with a
philanthropic heart.

Keeping it short, I want to share an incident which motivated me to wear stethoscope. I got a very bad
cold when I was either in 4 th or 5th standard I guess and visited a big hospital, it was my first seeing a
hospital this big in my life and it left a great impression on me and made me fantasized how nice it
would be to work in a cozy place like this. Following the consequent years, I started gaining more
interest in medicine ‘coz of my paternal aunt, who was a diabetic II patient and because of her I first
encountered typical biological and medical terminology, since I used to hear new words from my
cousins and then searching them on internet and eventually, I started learning about human, their
body, anatomy, morphology, and physiology. After enrolling in class 8 th we started studying human
disease, their diagnoses and treatment. Starting from there, I decided to study medicine.

The part which I really love about being a doctor is the feeling when people recovers, when people
express how amazing it feels from recovering a disease, the bright smile on their face and returning to
your daily life activities, enjoying the food you love, doing the chores you want to do and especially
meeting the people you cherish, whom you wouldn’t able to meet because of one thing ‘I’m not well’.
I want to become a doctor so that I can be a part of all these moments.

"Doctor are stature of God, they are the only one after god who can bring people back to life from the
door of death. This statement motivated me as the feeling when you bring a person back into life is
really something you can’t describe in words, and I bet any doctor can relate to it.

Being a medical doctor gives you satisfaction more than money, it might not let you earn the huge
loads of money like engineering, business etc. but it surely will help you earn the tons of respect and
blessing you won’t be able to earn in any other profession. It is a wealthy profession indeed, not only
in terms of money but more in terms of love and blessings.

In addition to my fervor for medicine, I've developed a profound fascination for psychology. This
intrigue initially sprouted from personal experiences, particularly witnessing the challenges my father
faced as a psychiatry patient for over 20 years. These experiences ignited my curiosity about the
human mind and the intricacies of mental health. As I delved deeper into this subject, I discovered the
profound impact of psychology on understanding emotions, behaviors, and overall well-being.

Choosing psychology as my second major not only aligns with my empathetic nature but also
complements my medical aspirations. The ability to comprehend and address the emotional needs of
patients is a crucial aspect of being a well-rounded healthcare provider. By combining psychology
with medicine, I aim to offer holistic care that not only heals the body but also nurtures the mind.

Studying psychology alongside medicine will equip me with a comprehensive understanding of both
the physical and psychological dimensions of health. This dual-major approach will empower me to
provide personalized and compassionate care, particularly in fields like psychiatry, where the
intersection of medical knowledge and emotional support is paramount.

Moreover, I believe that psychology will augment my ability to connect with patients on a deeper
level, fostering trust and enhancing the doctor-patient relationship. The insights gained from
psychology will allow me to address the underlying emotional factors that often accompany physical
ailments, leading to more effective treatments and improved patient outcomes.
As I embark on my journey towards becoming a doctor, I'm committed to harnessing the power of
psychology alongside medicine, with the aim of providing comprehensive and compassionate care to
those in need.

When I got to know about this scholarship from YouTube as I used to watch numerous vlogs about
South Korea, its culture, and people after being influenced by K-pop, K-movies and K-dramas. The
first GKS scholar I watched was Shivani Singh (her channel name: Indian Unnie) and in one of her
vlogs she shared her story about her being diagnosed with appendicitis, in the whole video she
appreciated how advance and well maintained South Korean healthcare system is. She explained how
smoothly her surgery went without any problem, the doctors were so good, and the staff was nice too.
Another GKS scholar was Bharti, she is studying Food and nutrition in South Korea (her channel
name: BM Shinchu), she described in her videos that though studying in Korea is quite pressurizing
yet amazing, the teachers are nice, humble, helping, and supportive. Then I started searching and
accumulating information about GKS so that I can also study in South Korea.

Using this program as an opportunity to learn more about South Korean culture, people, society, and
healthcare is my prime goal. Progressive and super advanced educational standards of South Korea
gained my attention and impressed me a lot, when I was searching for a place with high quality
education and well-developed medical infrastructure.

The technological advancement, fast growing and stable economy, and universities with great global
ranking with a high reputation of South Korea as a nation all over the world makes a great aspiration
for me to have a great carrier perspective. Studying Medicine or psychology in South Korea which
falls under the top 5 best healthcare infrastructure in world will hugely benefit me and will help me to
increase my knowledge and will provide me golden opportunities to build my carrier.

I believe being a student at the well-known South Korean university will help me curve my skills even
sharper and better along with providing hands-on experience and practical knowledge. Also, the
National Health Insurance System managed by National Health Insurance Service (NHIS) which
makes it affordable, smoother, and easy to access and ensures that every citizen must get its benefits
shows how well managed and properly coordinated South Korean healthcare is which caught my
attention. If I become an international student studying in Korea who can do research, as well as
acquiring international standard knowledge, it will be a great achievement for me.

South Korea has an ideal and intelligent learning environment with the most innovative equipment
and facilities in the world, meaning that students will have access to cutting-edge science in the
earliest and fastest way. Moreover, in Korea, there are a team of leading teachers and doctors who are
enthusiastic about students, ready to convey the best experiences. Additionally South Korea is leading
the world with its K-pop, K-dramas, K-movies, education, and healthcare will provide global
exposure and allowing to meet new people from all over the world. Lastly this program will help me
to secure my future, learn new things and improve my abilities academically.

For my family, my both parents are native Indians, and they belong from a small region named
Etawah in the state called Uttar Pradesh. As for siblings, I have 3 elder brothers and I’m the youngest
son of my parents. My two elder brothers have completed their undergraduate degree and are
currently working in the finance sector and my third brother is an undergraduate student. My father is
a high school passed out (10th passed). My mother is illiterate. My father used to work in a small
export company and my mother is a housewife.

As for my educational background, I have completed my high school graduation from ANGELS
PUBLIC SCHOOL, EAST DELHI (INDIA) with Medical Science, which include subjects like
Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English along with Physical Education and Psychology. I have good
knowledge of Biology, English and Psychology. Apart from these subjects I have scored good marks
in other subjects as well. As for my favorite subjects, I really love Biology and for that reason I chose
Medical Science as my major and wanted to build my future in medical line. I can speak and write
good English because I had all my prior education in English. I currently can speak three languages
fluently which are Hindi, English and my native language, Western Hindi. Now I want to add Korean
as my 4th language in my resume.

As I said earlier, I have studied Psychology and I gained interest in that subject because of my father
as he is a psychiatry patient for past 20+ years, though his condition is much better and he’s
completely normal now, although his medication is still going on.

Mentioning my academia will be a plus point for getting this scholarship, I scored 91.4% out of 100%
(GPA: 3.66/4) in my class 12th CBSE Board exams (a public examination conducted at national level
for all students of class 10th and 12th) with 3rd position in my class. I have secured an excellent GPA
throughout my high school years, for my class 9 th I had a GPA of 3.73/4 (93.3% out of 100%) with
rank 1st in my class, for my class 10 th board exams I got GPA of 3.84/4(96% out of 100%) along with
2nd position and lastly in my 11th standard, I scored 91% out 100% (GPA: 3.64/4) along with 2 nd
position in my class. I have always been within the Top 3 of my class throughout my high school
years.

Getting a scholarship doesn’t only require good academics but significant number of extra stuffs too,
moving forward I would like to mention that I had participated in extracurricular activities like
cricket, badminton, writing, debate, volleyball, dramas, and drawing. I had also volunteered to be an
MC at some of my school programs like Teacher’s Day celebration and Farewell Party of my seniors.

Though I’m not as good as I’m in my academics but I was highly praised for my marvelous
performance in these activities. I was highly appreciated during my high school years for my amazing
writing skills especially in English and Hindi essays. In an intra-writing competition, I got 1 st position
for my creative writing skills in English. I also got 1 st position in my school debate competition.
During sports week, I participated in a sport called cricket and did a pretty good job for which I got
2nd position. I was also awarded a certificate of fair play for my involvement in the national sports
program.

I also joined a campaign for Eldercare to help people enlighten about the condition of elderly people. I
also participated in some of the online quizzes to increase my knowledge-Nasha Mukt Bharat
Abhiyaan (Drug free India campaign), Lifestyle for environment, Clean Rural India Campaign Phase-
II, G20 Culture Track Quiz. I also participated in the IPR (Intellectual property rights) and Plant tissue
culture and Biotechnology national quiz . It highlights my commitment to social causes and
continuous learning.

I have an interest in singing and dancing too, which are also my hobbies. I want to learn professional
dance along with studying because I believe you should give a try to something else apart from your
academics you truly love and cherish. This desire of mine to pursue professional dance alongside my
studies is a testament to my determination to explore my passions beyond academics. I like collecting
quotes as well and I have written some quotes too and it indicates the creative side of me apart from
my academic interests. I believe all these achievements and involvement showcase my versatility and
willingness to engage in diverse experiences along with my academics.
Another skill which I would like to mention is that I can understand other people’s emotion and
feelings well, although it might not be a proper skill but understanding other people emotion and how
do they really feel is important for the majors I’m opting for. It is not a skill you can get a certificate
in easily, but people near you truly like your vibes and appreciate your presence and I have got several
compliments for this skill of mine. This helped me gain more interest in choosing psychology as my
5th main subject and because of this subject I have sharpened my emotional intelligence skills even
more. It is also an important skill for my majors as I will be dealing with numerous patients of mine
and will have to provide them with great emotional support along with medical assistance.
