This 36-week course will be filled with activities and projects, to boost your critical thinking habits, improve your
collaborative participation, develop better communication skills, and grow your creative thought process.
Through talking and writing about ceramics. We will explore ceramic art through studio habits.
In this class, you will ……. Materials needed daily:
 Conceptualize and generate artistic ideas and work.
 Develop and organize artistic ideas and work.
 Complete and refine artistic work.
 Interpret, select, and analyze artistic work for
presentation.
 Convey the meaning through the presentation of
artic work.
 Apply criteria to evaluate ceramic artwork.
 Interpret the intent and meaning of the ceramic

Class assignments: Grading:
Daily class participation, studio projects, Each assignment/ will be assigned a letter grade.
Peer critiques, portfolio review, (A, B, C, D, F). Rubrics will be used to test the
student’s self-assessment. The grading scale will
follow the Garden Grove High School district
grading policy.
Student expectations in the classroom: A little something about the instructor:
Respect, Responsibility, Relationships, and Mrs. Antonia was born in Salinas California a
small farming community. She received her Art
Safety Education degree from CSUF and Single subject
credential from CSULB. She is married to a
Marine Veteran. She has 5 beautiful
grandchildren.
