1. What is the trend? Describe it
In my opinion, the most popular trend today is online learning at home during the

complicated development of the covid 19 pandemic. e-learning is taking place in a

complicated way, which is a form of teaching and learning in class via the internet.

Teachers and learners will use online learning platform software, audio and image

transmission applications, and smart devices (laptops, smartphones, tablets,...).

Currently, there is much software to support online learning such as Microsoft

Teams. Zoom, google meet, skype,... We can learn anytime, anywhere, impart

knowledge on-demand, and respond quickly. Students can access the courses

anywhere like at the office, at home, at public Internet spots, 24 hours a day, 7

days a week. When you study online, students can choose from courses guided by

online lecturers or Interactive Self-training courses, self-adjusting the learning

speed according to their ability and can improve knowledge through online

libraries. In short, this online learning brings a lot of initiative to both students and

teachers.
2, Does the trend help people connect with the
others? How?
This trend helps people connect with each other through one screen. As you know

in the current Covid 19 pandemic, 100% of students cannot go to school. Therefore,

online learning has helped teachers and students exchange courses through online

support software. For example, zoom, Google meets Microsoft teams ... both can

interact with each other through the screen of the phone, tablet, or laptop. In the

course of learning, teachers will share a conference screen so students can better

understand it. Also, if you want to communicate, just activate the microphone and

talk as if you meet in real life. For images, simply turn on the camera on your

device and your teacher will be able to see you and listen to you. Thanks to e-

learning, students can track educational programs without going to school.

3, Why is the trend popular? What is new and
different about it?
The trend of e-learning is very popular nowadays for many reasons, but the reason

why it is popular in the last 3 years is because of the outbreak and spread of the

covid 19 pandemic. To reduce the number of active people, e-learning is a long-

term and timely solution for education. Furthermore, online learning offers many

other benefits. Now, with just a computer or smartphone, you can study online

anytime, anywhere with quick feedback. In addition, you do not have to spend time

traveling to the study location, saving travel costs. Online training schools also do

not need to rent a place and save on organizational costs. Online learning and

traditional learning are completely different. The first is that online learning has

advantages: saving and flexible in time, saving learning costs, storing lessons for
review, reviewing lessons on computers, phones, smartphones, providing

documents rich learning for students. Including lectures, exercises and materials

carefully compiled from basic to advanced, students actively choose learning

methods and learning speeds that are suitable for their ability, accessible and

practical.… As for the traditional course, there will be a bit of a contradiction with

learning that is limited in a certain time, a lot of accommodation costs, higher

travel and tuition costs, and the number of students is limited by space and

geography. Assessing the effectiveness of learning through tests, interaction in

learning is not appreciated because students are afraid... So in short, both e -

learnings have advantages and disadvantages different.

4, How did this trend start and spread or become
popular?
The term E-learning first appeared in October 1999 in an international conference

on CBT (Computer - Based Training). The 1840s. Pitman sent his assignments to his

students via the mail system and received back the results the students had

completed. It was not until 1960 that the first computer-based training programs

were introduced to the world. From about 2010 onwards, the explosion of

application technology on mobile platforms made the information interaction

system with internet users richer than ever. Mobile applications combined with the

internet allow learners to interact in the E-learning environment anytime,

anywhere. Especially around the time when Vietnam was suffering from the covid

19 pandemic, online learning became very popular.
