Title
Ceramic tile laying system.
 Introduction

Ceramic tiles have a wide use in buildings. Flooring, walling, cabinet tops and exterior design. However the
biggest challenge comes in installing these tiles. This is because for one to lay tiles a high level of
experience is required to achieve the required workmanship. The main purpose of or project is to ease this
process and increase the speed hence reducing the labor cost. Our system has a low cost and is affordable
and easy to any interested construction professional. Our system is easy to use and accurate even more than
other conventional methods.
 CERAMIC TILES LAYING SYSTEM

This is a simple tile fitting machine, which is used to fit six tiles at once within a short period of time.
Tiles having different sizes it is fabricated according to the size of the tiles to be fitted in the building.in
the cases it is used to fit the floor tile les.
As a country, due to growing population we need to have many houses and that brought into the attention
of our government
We need heat building and that is what propelled us come with an Idea on how we can make building
construction processes in our country affordable.
Coming up with this idea was a big achievement because of truss fitting of tiles, meaning that many tiles
can be fitted within short span of time. This will reduce the cost of tiles fitting thus making the cost of
building much affordable in our country.
1. This method is cheap compared to the normal methods of tile fitting because of the following
reasons;
2. It’s manageable to fit many tils within the shortest time.
3. Thickness of the fitting adhesive will be uniform.
4. No need of the spacers because the machine already and aligns the tiles provides one user to fit the
tiles.
Only a little experience is required in order to use the machine and even semi-skilled can use the system
and give out the professional workmanship.
 Advantages o using this method of tiling using still fabricated simple machine over ordinary tilling.
1. Cheap, in that the user only machine and a trowel unlike the ordinary tilling which requires tilling
spacers.
2. One can hire cheap labour because of little experience is needed compared to the other tilling system
where we need professionals and specialist.
3. Easy handle the machine.
4. Easy to fabricate.
Maintenance of the system
1. Cleaning after use.
2. Coating with anti-rust paints to increase the life span of the machine.
3. Storing it away from water and oxygen to avoid rust.
The machine can be used to lay tiles in a squire manner or rectangular design according to the size of the
tiles and how the machine is fabricated.
The pattern will be given according to the design of the mounded machine and shape of the tiles.
NOTE
To obtain the consistency of good tile laying using the system, the consistency of adhesive should be
maintained to have good working when laying tiles.
Procedure of laying tiles using the laying system
1. Level the floor.
2. Ensure that the floor is dust free to make sure the adhesive will be intact with the floor and create a
strong bond between the tiles and the floor.
3. Moisture the floor to make sure no dust in the pinched floor.
4. Apply the adhesive after taking measurement and identifying the center of the room.
5. From the center lay your machine slowly without disturbing the adhesive.
6. Into the molded machine fill tiles till machine is full, checking the tiles level in machine.
7. Compact tiles to make sure they are intact with the adhesive.
8. Remove your mound keenly to avoid disturbing your already fitted tiles.
9. After tiles set wait for at least 20 minutes then apply grout, after five minutes using rubbing bricks
clean your tiles to leave your tile clean.
Tools used in tilling
1. Notqed trowel.
2. Rubber grout plant.
3. Rubbing brick
4. Tilling trowel
5. Tile cutter
6. Tape measure
7. Level
8. Notqed trowel-for spreading adhesive evenly.
9. Rubber grout -for spreading the grout into the joints when held at an angle of 45 degrees.
10. Tile cutter-for cutting tiles into the required shapes and size.
 11. Tape measure-for measuring the size required and the room to calculate and determine center of the
room.
Procedure of mixing tile laying chunk
Into a container add water in our case add cement as you stir.
Blend until consistency of their quired thickness is obtained. Ready to work with.

Relationship to this year theme.

This project is related to this year’s sub theme affordable housing since it lowers the cost of labour in
laying tiles. This is because without this system a mason lays 20square while using this system a tile layer
can do even 50sm.
