2-1 Relationship between leakage level and detected differential pressure(Differential Pressure Type Air Leak Testers) Reference: Technical Manual, Pressure type: Pg. 13~15

・ Input conditions into the column(s) colored blue. The calculated results will be show in the columns colored red.
・ Relationship between Leak Rate and Detected Differential Pressure Amount in Differential Pressure Type Air Leak Testers.
The unit for test pressure must be kPa. The unit for leak rate must be atm mL/min.
Calculate the leak rate from the 'b' detected variance using the detected variance from the 'a' leak rate.
・ Measure the volume in the test parts if it is unknown. (Calculation sheet "2-3E_Internal volume Calculation.xls" )
・ This calculation is calculated assuming that there is no change (pressure drop) of the differential pressure factors other than the leakage level itself.
The calculated value may differ from the actual measurement due to volume and temperature variation (disturbance).
・ The sensitivity level is reduced if the master volume is small. Figure 1 shows this situation.
Consider hydrogen for more sensitive methods where leak rates from pressure variance based air leak testers are not able to work properly.

Atmospheric pressure P0 101325 Pa abs Master volume The calculation is based on the following equation.
Sensor coefficient K 4.0E-06 mL/Pa FL-610:28 mL
FL-611(Valve Closed):3.8 mL Q=∆P/P_0
Test Pressure(gauge pressure) Pt 500 kPa FL-611(Accessory tank):30 mL {V_W+K∙(1+V_W/V_S )∙(P_0+P_t )} 60/t
Volume of test product Vw 300 mL Use any master parts where applicable.
the volume inside the master Vs 28 mL
Detection time t 60 s Enter 1s for Pa/s, and 60s for Pa/min.
