The Covid-19 pandemic change the world, from face to face interaction to physical distancing.

From fine dining to delivery, from being outside to isolated and from physical education to online
distance learning.
In the midst of pandemic everything changed.

One of these is the educational learning system, to make sure that learning remains unharmed both public and
private schools in choose to change their learning system from the traditional face-to-face setup to distance
learning.

It's either online modular or blended learning and for today's discussions,

What is blended & Modular learning?

Blended learning is an instructional strategy where students learn their content

Partially online. With an online learning students have come to some control over pace, path,
place or time

Modular Distance Learning features individualized instruction that allows learners to use self-
learning modules (SLMs) in print or digital format/electronic copy, whichever is applicable to
the learner. Learners under Modular Distance Learning can also use other resources such as
Learner’s Materials, textbooks, activity sheets, study guides, and other study materials.
Usually, teachers will have to deliver appropriate learning materials. However, students can also
access these materials by downloading electronic copies through their computer, tablet PC, or
smartphone.

Let us me share the disadvantages and advantages of using modular learning for both teachers and students.

- 1st disadvantage - feedback is limited - Modular learning for the students is very difficult. We cannot
make sure the students will gain the complete information just by reading the text inside the papers
that the teachers have prepared. So the students will now find ways to communicate to their teachers.
But the problem is this the feedback is limited. It's either because of network for signals where the
students will become frightened to ask questions for their teachers because they think that the
teachers will be irritated a lot of questions as a result.
The teachers won't met the expected knowledge gained by the students

- 2nd disadvantage lack of focus - Modular learning is for flexible disciplined and time manageable
students and not for the student who are easily attempted and a disciplined learner. Yes, we can
easily say that but in reality it's very hard to focus and study within a noisy and comfortable place as
the modular learning has started.
The lack of focus is the most problem for the students. They cannot study and focus within their
goals because there's a lot of temptations like budgets. Indeed distance learning is not for everyone.
It is not for undisciplined learner nor inflexible instructors

- 3rd disadvantage less of motivation because of lack of communication because the students are now
studying inside their homes, they will now not able to communicate and share knowledge and stories
with their teachers and classmates that are present and face-to-face set up the students need to hear
real life stories to motivate their auctions and every day’s life.
They will now not able to communicate and share knowledge and inspirational stories from teachers
and classmates that is traditionally present in studying
- 3rd disadvantage demands large effort and creation for more projects and activities because the
modular learning can allow the students or teachers to talk to a random.
The teachers will find some activities that can be taught and from that the student's class will be
multiplied because from the traditional face-to-face segment, the participation of the students is
recorded and now you pay time and the students still need to do those tasks for the sake of their
grades

- 5th disadvantage not completely safe for the teachers in terms of less contact with different people
modular learning is safe for both teachers and students, but we cannot make sure the safety of our
teachers while they are driving and delivering our modules dangerous for the teachers to go outside
walking across dangerous highways just to reach the place of the students.
Teachers are facing dangerous paths every day within modular learning setup.

And now let me about disadvantages

- 1st advantage safe in terms of less direct contact as the world continues to struggle with coronavirus
modular learning is the most preferred by the department of education and parents for distance
learning I can say that modular learning is more safe from the traditional face-to-face setup,
especially that we are intermittent of pandemic where virus is everywhere.
Always remember nothing is more valuable than education but nothing is more important than health.

- 2nd advantage build and dependency modular learning will teach students of self-study from this
independency of learners will build they will try to do their activities and understand their lessons
because they are not sure nor free to ask the teachers directly as they are going farther and farther in
self-learning, they also building their own and become independent students.

- 3rd advantage build discipline The students will learn to discipline themselves because if they not they
will left behind modular learning would teach the students to become disciplined and time
manageable learners.
It is important for a student to build discipline not just in studying but for all the time.

- 4th advantage self-paced in modular learning students will try to do their best just to understand each
topic of the lesson critically independently, in this case, they won't ignore each topic but they will
focus just to understand what the text means because at the end of the modules, they will met
activities for each presence.
The learner will become more self-paced and it will become an achievement for the learners and
teachers because the topic are completely understood by the students.

- 5th advantage Flexible It is the most favorite part advantage in modular learning of the students with
this the students are the ones who manage their time.

It's up to them if they will strike early as 6 am to 7 pm or start in 7 p.m. To 6 a.m.

As a student, you need to put to your mind that even it is a face-to-face learning or modular learning
you need to study hard and do not waste even a small amount of time.

Blended learning requires an effective teacher to help and guide student learning.

Blended learning combines traditional instruction, technology rich instruction and online learning.
