Self-Biography (Bullets are fine!)

My name is charlie lopez and I’m 18 years old. I have lived and grown up in the Godfrey Lee
community. I have gone to lee since kindergarten and I basically grew up with the same group
of friends. Some hobbies of mine are playing soccer, basketball, and playing video games. A
dream of mine I want to accomplish before I die is to simply travel around the world. And I
hope to open up a business of my own and specifically a jewelry shop and expand it so much
that I will be able to open multiple businesses.

Free jewelry cleaning for the community.

Give discounts so that they can buy traditional jewelry that they get from their culture

My potential hands-on will be:

I will bring a small engraving machine to either engrave a ring or a little plate that I can
engrave.

I will also simply ask them to give me their name and I can teach them how to engrave
it themselves.

For the community, I will also bring a silver cleaner and a gold cleaner and clean a dirty
piece of jewelry

1. What personal interest do you have in this topic? Why have you chosen this topic for your
Senior Project/Showcase?
My mom’s side of the family has a family business and they have a jewelry shop
that has expanded so much. That is why I am inspired and interested in this.
 2. What research questions will you seek to answer? What kinds of sources might you look
for?

-How can I start opening a business

-How can I get in touch with bigger companies that sell gold and silver jewelry in bulk so
I can get a better price.

-since gold prices continue increasing i can show the website that has that information.

3. Who is a person/company (specifically, or in general) with experience or expertise in this

field you might interview? What understanding do you hope to gain from this
person/company?
I can ask Mr white or I can ask my uncle or my mother. Those are the 2 that are the ones
in charge.

4. What situations, events, or places could you observe or experience to gain insight into
your topic?

Since I work with them after school and on weekends I have been observing and learning
more and more every day.

5. What challenges might you encounter with your research or project? What assistance or
tools will you need to overcome them?
I think a challenge can be finding a company that sells in bulk
