Senior Capstone

1. Self-Biography (Bullets are fine!)

● I am 18 years old
● I am a senior in highschool
● I am a great team worker
● I am a creative person
● I was born here in Michigan and lived here most of my life.
● Left to Guatemala with my mom for almost 3 years.
● Went to Mexico to stay with my dad for a while.
● Only went to 5th grade in Guatemala then I stopped going.
● Came back to the US In 2019 and went back to school, and entered 9th grade.
● My mom stayed In Guatemala
● Have six siblings in total, one from my mom's side and five from my dad
● 3 siblings passed away
● Learned how to cook, clean, and take care of kids by the age of 12.
● Explored many parts Of Guatemala and Mexico
● Lived a very different lifestyle outside of the US
● Started my first job in Michigan at Marshall's at the age of 17.
● Had a second job at UPS and then quit. I am putting in my two weeks at Marshall's and
working at Walgreens.
● I live with my Aunt, uncle, two cousins, and my cat Levi.
● I love animals so much
● I love doing makeup because It makes me feel confident and powerful.
● I got my permit, but I am too scared to drive and take my test.
● I love music.
● I like to have fun and do dangerous activities.
● I go to therapy
● I have been through a lot of bad things, but I am learning to overcome those past
memories.

A community/work issue that can be solved with a particular skill set from your career
area (How will I give back?) (ex. Create a campaign to give back to a local cause)

I can teach many people and give them tips and just help them improve their skills. I can help
people by giving them a makeover, helping them look professional for interviews, helping them
feel confident, and making them win a contest. I can also help the ones in need, the ones that
feel depressed. I can help people who need help and wash them up and make them feel clean
and just more refreshed.
How can a makeup artist determine what is the best look for their client?

My potential hands-on will be: MUST BE VERY DETAILED! (ex. Showcase the entire
campaign.)
*This will be where you will showcase what you created that addresses a community/work
issue.

I am going to buy practice eyes. I will give them an example of how to do brows and
eyeshadows step by step. I will also purchase makeup supplies like Brushes, eyeshadow,
primer, foundation, concealer, eyebrow dip, and glitter. Then I will make them do it on their
own, and they can pick any style or color. I want to make them have fun and be creative.
Before all that, I will set everything in place and be neat and always try to organize everything.

1. What personal interest do you have in this topic? Why have you chosen this topic
for your Senior Project/Showcase?
I love to do my makeup and feel very confident afterward. I choose this because I want to
make people feel powerful and make them feel like they can do anything.

2. What research questions will you seek to answer? What kinds of sources might
you look for?

I will seek to answer questions that are involved with my career or that ask for help. I will
look for the most popular sources.

3. Who is a person/company (specifically, or in general) with experience or expertise

in this field you might interview? What understanding do you hope to gain from
this person/company?

I might interview this family friend, and I hope to get good information how her experience
in the field.

4. What situations, events, or places could you observe or experience to gain insight
into your topic?
 A cosmetology class, videos on the internet, friends.

5. What challenges might you encounter with your research or project? What
assistance or tools will you need to overcome them?

There are many challenges, and I think I am going to struggle with my speech. I don't
know how much to write and how to start.
