Chapter IV

RESULTS, ANALYSIS, AND INTERPRETATION OF THE DATA

This chapter compromised the presentation, analysis, and

interpretation of the data gathered after the final experimentation of

the study in terms of the phytochemical screening of the ethanolic

extract of White Radish (Raphanus sativus L.) and the antifungal

testing against Saprolegnia multispora fungus. The data are presented

in tabular form for clearer interpretation of data.

Table 1 shows the result of the phytochemical screening done

with the White Radish (Raphanus sativus L.) ethanolic plant extract.

Qualitative analysis showed positive result for Flavonoids, golden

yellow color, Glycosides; a brown ring formation in the interface,

Phenolic compounds, black color and Tannins, brownish-green

precipitate. However, it shows negative in Alkaloids, Anthocyanosides

and Saponins.

treatments of every replication. Treatment 1 or 100% Plant Extract

inhibits the growth of the bacteria by 8 mm in all replications.

Treatment 2 or 75% inhibits the growth of the bacteria by 7.mm in

two replication and 8mm in one replication, and Treatment 3 or 50%

plant extract inhibits the growth of the bacteria by 6 in two replication

and by 5 mm in one replication.

Table 3 shows the summary of the ANOVA values of the zones of

inhibition of Saprolegnia multispora after 24 hours from treatment

application. The critical f-value 5.143253 is more than the computed

value which is 0.093023. Statistical Analysis showed that the

Saprolegnia multispora was not significantly affected by the different

concentration of white radish (Raphanus sativus L.) ethanolic extract.
