2022 Teaching Philosophy

What does education mean to me? Education is the start of a child's future. Education is

like a ladder to their future careers. Education helps students know what they are passionate

about and what career path they would like to pursue. Each grade has a new learning

opportunity. Education makes sure students are ready to succeed in everyday life after

graduating. Students come into school ready to be molded by everyone surrounding them. The

children we have the privilege of teaching will become our doctors, lawyers, and future teachers

etc.

A student's role in school consists of a lot of things. The student first of all has to show

up to class and ready to participate in the class lesson. If a student misses school a lot it will

impact them on the long run. It will hurt their grades and their testing scores. Most of the time

when students don’t understand something they don't bother to ask the teacher because they are

embarrassed of what their classmates might think. That's why I believe students should engage in

question asking more often.

A teacher's role in education is to be the student's gatekeeper. They also provide the

students with knowledge to perform well in school. Teachers need to keep up with students that

are falling behind and make sure to get the student as caught up as possible. Teachers are there

for students if they have any questions in the lesson that they don't understand. They will know

where the student is having issues and work with the student to conquer it. Teachers mentor the

students and talk to them about making the correct choices. This will shape the students to

respect those with authority.

A community's role with education is to help guide the children through the correct path.

Imagine having a teacher mentor you to be a good student, what will happen if you have bad

influences outside of school? Ofcourse the little time you do spend with the teacher can't

compare with the free time you get out of school with the bad influence. So that is when a parent

or someone that the student looks up to has to set some boundaries and actually keep the

children's minds busy. I'm not saying have them reading or doing homework all the time but

maybe take them out on a learning adventure.
