INTRODUCTION

CADCAM applications are used to both design a product and program

manufacturing processes, specifically, CNC machining. CAM software uses the
models ad assemblies created in CAD software to generate toolpaths that drive
machine tools to turn designs into physical parts. The objective of this project
produce a part design to accomplished the requirement needed. We needed to
generated 3D parts into 2D drafting mode for user reference. We needed to plan
machining strategies and apply the method of CADCAM programming using
CADCAM software. Simulate machining operations prior to the machining process.
Lastly, We need to generate NC code for part programming. This project was
designed to develop the consciousness and preparation for us to adapt with real life
case study that will be faced during our working times.

Milling is a machining process that involves the use of cutting tools that are
rotated at a set speed and then brought into contact with a work piece. The work
piece is typically held in place by some sort of clamping device. The cutting tools
begin to remove material when they touch the work piece.

DESIGN REQUIREMENT

DISCUSSION

Discussions throughout the running of this CADCAM project, we have learned

that the cadcam process is divided into two parts. One part of Cad that we have we
build a project based on engineering drawings into then the other part is Cad to
create tools and processes to turn the project into a product. We discuss to design a
robot body gripper for machining process.
CONCLUSION

As a conclusion to this CADCAM lab report, we were able to create 2D

geometric drawings using Mastercam software. We will use machining parameters in
machining operations for pockets, faces, contours and drilling. Using CADCAM we
can preview and edit tool paths. They can also simulate the path and operation of
tools. In addition, we can understand the functions of operations manager and post
processing. What we have learn, we can translate the 3D part design produced into
2D drafting mode for user reference. After that, we plan machining strategies and
applied the method of CADCAM programming using CADCAM software. Next, we
simulate machining operations prior to the machining process. Lastly, we generate
NC code for part programming.

In the industry part, We will be able to study the software in good condition
and in my opinion there are suggestions that need to be improved because all
machines or pc are in good condition even if the students are very comfortable to
study.
