Hello everyone! Good morning.

We are here today to present to you

our week 3 and week 4 activities. I am here today with Ms. Micah
Shane Sapaden and Ms. Kimberly Pumaras. To begin with let me
present to you our Week 3 Activity Exercise No.1 entitled “Bring
Forth the Challenge Forth”.

Positive
Negative
 Education
 Beauty  Money
 Humanity  Traditions
 Preservation and  loss of culture character
restoration of  loss of authenticity and
culture heritage meaning of traditional
 Revival of arts and crafts
traditional art and  potential
craft misunderstanding and
conflicts between
resident and tourists

First is the “bringing-forth”, in which humans only give form to

what already exists without disruption and control.
A common example are paintings, creation of pot with the use
of clay, and other arts and crafts
Positive. Traditional arts and crafts are an important form and part of our traditional
culture; they are the artistic form of historic and cultural connotation, as well as an
important direction for carrying forward the traditional art culture. Art has always
been the perfect medium in which to convey ideas, emotions, and to take a common
message to communicate to the masses. Today the educational aspects of art still
remain strong. Most teachers used famous paintings and sculptures to educate their
students about physics, math and even on art itself. Art, in any form only serves to
enhance beauty; and this is why most of the art that goes under the hammer get sold
at exorbitant rates. Moreover, an art is created by bringing the whole community
together. Furthermore, preserving, restoring and investing in cultural heritage
makes them train more traditional craftspeople—keeping these traditions alive and
creating new jobs.

Negative. If you were to consider it as such is the fact that many famous paintings
have been bought by private collectors and are now part of a private collection.
These paintings are generally kept under lock and key and will never see the light of
day. As a result, most of these paintings remain out of bounds for both public and
students alike. Furthermore, over-commercialization, most amateur painters are
encouraged to paint in a certain way so as to land their first project. Painting used to
be about exploring ideas, your immediate environment and working the same into a
painting. Moreover, the loss of cultural practices can lead to reduced social cohesion
and society-wide mental health challenges because an individual's culture is closely
linked with his sense of identity and belonging to a community. When local people
entertain tourists, they adapt tourists’ needs, attitudes and values and ultimately start
following them. This often happens in a less sophisticated society where; stronger
culture dominates the weaker which leads to loss of authenticity and potential
misunderstanding and conflicts between resident and tourists.
Positive Negative
 Crop rotation  Health impact
 Yield increase  Environmental impact
 Cost  High maintenance
 Renewable & clean  Noise and visual pollution
source of energy  disrupt wildlife habitat
 utilize other renewable
sources

Next is the “challenging-forth”, where humans control the productive process

and, according to Heidegger, reduce it to something else, often inferior to its
true essence.

A common example is the technologies using wind and hydroelectric energy

and since modern technology is wide, technologies in agriculture are the one
that I also added.
Positive. Crop rotation was practiced to a certain extent during the initial stages of
agriculture, with modern farming implements such as the tractor which also functions
as a modern plow, it now became possible to plant the same field with various crops
at different times of the year, thereby increasing productivity. With the advent of
agricultural technology and advances in both pesticides and fertilizers, farmers are
better able to protect their crops. Therefore, they are able to increase their yield per
acre. As a result, farmers are able to grow various kinds of crops and are able to
pass on the benefits to their consumers, resulting in fair and equitable rates.
Furthermore, unlike coal, natural gas, or oil, generating electricity from wind doesn’t
result in greenhouse gas emissions. While there are some environmental
considerations that come with building large wind farms, once operational, wind
turbines themselves don’t require burning any fossil fuels to operate. Hydroelectricity
makes it possible to utilize other renewable sources. The flexibility and storage
capacity of hydroelectric power plants make them more economical in supporting the
use of intermittent sources of renewable energy, such as solar energy.

Negative. Various studies have clearly established the fact that overutilization of
both fertilizers and pesticides can impact one’s health; even a mild skin exposure to
some can cause you to experience extreme distress. The rampant deforestation has
already taken a toll on our world with global warming at a new high. As more
ecosystems get destroyed, it is affecting the balance in nature. As with every farmed
land out there, your land required high maintenance. You need to regularly check up
on the same so that you can improve the productivity of the field concerned.
Additionally, one of the biggest downsides of wind energy is the noise and
visual pollution. Wind turbines can be noisy when operating, they need to be built up
high enough to capture a good amount of wind, the turbines can often interrupt
otherwise scenic landscapes, such as mountain ranges, lakes, oceans, and more. In
some cases, hydroelectricity can disrupt wildlife habitat. Hydroelectric power plants
can cause a loss or modification of fish habitat, and lead to the entrapment of fish
and the restriction of their passages.
