0 Introduction

This work aimed to develop the students' ability to identify and analyze the different roles
played by managers in organizations. In this task, we will look at four different management
functions that Ray Kroc performed to make McDonald's a global brand. To analyze this, we
saw a movie called "The Founder" about the true story of Ray Kroc, a street vendor who
franchised the two brothers' innovative fast food restaurant, McDonald's, into the world's
largest restaurant business. The movie "The Founder" was released on December 16, 2016,
directed by John Lee Hancock and written by Robert Siegal.

Raymond Albert Kroc, who we know as Ray Kroc, was a male of American business. He was
born to parents of Czech descent in Oak Park, Illinois, United States on October 5, 1902, and
died at the age of 82 on January 14, 1984 in San Diego, California, United States. Kroc's first
two marriages to Ethel Fleming (1922-1961) and Jane Dobbins Green (1963-1968) ended in
divorce. His third wife, Joan Kroc, was an American philanthropist and the relationship
between them lasted a long time until Kroc's death. As a child, he took piano lessons and
showed his instinct for business development through ventures such as opening a
lemonade stand and working at the soda fountain. Lying on his age at 15, he fought in World
War I as an ambulance driver for the Red Cross. After the war, Kroc also investigated various
career choices such as working as a pianist, music director, and real estate salesperson.
Eventually, he found stability as a salesperson for the LilyTulip Cup Company and rose to the
position of Midwestern Sales Manager. a company doing business with the owner of an ice
cream shop, Earl Prince, who invented a machine suitable for creating five batches of
milkshakes at the same time. quality food and poor service. In 1954, Kroc visited a
restaurant owned by brothers Richard McDonald "Dick" and Maurice McDonald "Mac" in San
Bernardino, California, which reportedly needed several of its multimixers. Kroc was
impressed with the very idea of drivein restaurants to focus on quality food with a simple
menu (burgers, fries, sodas and smoothies) and the efficiency of the operation, which
promptly responded to his customers to chain. The brothers had tried the franchise but had
failed to control the aspects that made their first restaurant successful. So Kroc offered to
fill the franchise with strict agreement from the McDonald brothers. In 1955, Kroc founded
McDonald's System, Inc.

We'll look at four key managerial functions that Ray Kroc performed to help McDonald's become
a global brand in this assignment. To help us understand this, we watched "The Founder," a film
follows the life of Ray Kroc, a travelling salesman who turned the two brothers' modern fast-
food restaurant, McDonald's, into the world's largest restaurant chain. The film "The Founder,"
directed by John Lee Hancock and written by Robert Siegal, was released on December 16, 2016.
