Academic Task 2
Assignment - Where do you get cereal?

Through this activity students, in pairs or groups of three, create a dialogue about an
interview between a foreigner and a local person from a city talking about “Where can
he/she find some products and stores?” and record it in a short video.

Dialogue:

Gaby: Good afternoon

Arely: Hi, how can I help you?

Gaby: My name is Gaby, nice to meet you.

Arely: Nice to meet you too

Gaby: I'm new in the area, I arrived today from a trip, I need to buy some things for
my house.

Arely: ok of course

Gaby: where do you buy your groceries

Arely: What do you want to buy?

Gaby: I need to buy some bread, milk, flour.

Arely: There is a supermarket nearby, walk three blocks and turn right, in front of
the hardware store.

Gaby: Great! Because I need to buy some eggs, drinks, toilet paper.

Gaby: Where can I buy nice and cheap clothes?

Arely: You can buy some clothes at Ripley's department stores, or at Real Plaza,
there are several nice and cheap clothing stores there.

There is a modern shopping mall called Mall Aventura.

Gaby: Oh, that's very good, because I need a pair of pants and blouses.

Where can I buy a screwdriver and some tools?

Arely: You can buy at the hardware store in front of the supermarket.

Gaby: That's very good, I need to buy some medicine.

Are there any pharmacies nearby?

Arely: Yes, what do you need to buy?

Gaby: Digestion medicine

Arely: ok I buy my medicine at the inkafarma pharmacy on the corner of San José
and Elías Aguirre.

Gaby: where can I buy a computer and some flash drives?

Arely: I buy at the electronics store next to the supermarket.

Gaby: I also need shoes

Where can I buy a pair of shoes?

Arely: you can buy a pair of shoes or sandals at the shoe store, which is behind the
supermarket.

Gaby: Where can I get a haircut?

Arely: At the hairdresser's near the shoe store.

Gaby: Are there any hospitals nearby?

Arely: There are no hospitals nearby, they are very far from here.

Gaby: Excuse me, where can I find the main park in Chiclayo?

Arely: You take a bus at the corner, it leaves you in front of the Banco de la Nacion.
When you get to the bank, turn right and go straight on that road for about
six blocks. You cross and you will see the main park, around the park you will
find the municipality in front of the cathedral, the Ripley stores, across the
street is the Topytop store, and also the Interbank Bank.

Gaby: ok thank you very much for the information
