monitoring and ambient air quality data, that all environmental infrastructures is
in operation not only to meet the prescribed limit but in fact, discharge level is
far below the legal requirement.

PART F

Impact of pollution abetment measures taken on conservation of natural resources and on

the cost of production

i) Air Pollution Control

 Stacks of adequate heights for process furnace and all the utilities such as diesel fire
engine and DG sets have been provided to reduce the emissions within permissible
limits.
 Air pollution control devices such as dust collector and bag filter are provided at the
place to control/reduce the emission within permissible limits.

ii) Water Pollution Control

 All the domestic water is collected through network of pipe and severs and taken to
the sewage treatment plant (STP) for treatment, the treated water from STP is taken
through pipes and used in irrigation for the development of green belts in the
factory premises.
 The sludge from the STP is collected on regular basis and is used as manure in the
green belt area.

iii) Hazardous Waste Management

 The hazardous wastes are handled and stored in a way so as to ensure that there
are no adverse impacts on air, soil and water, including ground water.
 Concrete containment has been provided for storage of Lubricating oils.
 All the operators of the plant who are involved in hazardous wastes handling and
storage related activities have been adequately trained and
Work-Instructions/Operational Control Procedures(OCPs) have been developed for
handling and storage of Haz. Waste.
 Incompliance with the Supreme Court Order of 14 th October 2016, and Board’s
notice of 5th December 2003, the plant has put two (2) display board of (6 x 4 feet
size each) outside the main gate. One of the boards displays the information related
to storage of hazardous chemicals and hazardous wastes. The other board display
the information on products manufactured, air emissions and effluent discharges
(both quantity and quality) The information on the boards is regularly updated.

iv) Green Belt Development

 Green belt inside the factory has been developed and currently there are about 21
trees inside the factory premises.

PART-G

Additional measures/investment proposal for environmental protection

including abatement of pollution, prevention of pollution.

Area of Concern Expenditure Item

Waste Provision for hazardous waste storage building-with
Management- impervious floor has been made
Hazardous
Provision of closed containers lube oils
STP sludge has been made and use of same as manure
is being done
Provide the storage of flammable waste- grounding,
bonding, non- sparking tools
Waste Construction of covered storage building has been done
Management- Non- in scrap yard
Hazardous
Energy Savings Waste heat recovery unit and installation of energy
efficient equipments for energy conservation.

PART- H

Any other particulars for improving the quality of the environment.

The plant has started management of all environmental tools at site required
for implementing an Environmental Management System (EMS) ISO
14001:2015. The facility will be managed to full fill the commitment to comply
with all applicable Indian legal requirements. In addition, to applicable global
environmental performance standards in place since its inception, and has
committed resources to Roorkee Unit to ensure that these standards are also
met. An internal Lab has also been set up where daily basis testing of effluents
can be done for required parameters. Necessary testing equipments have been
made available in the lab.
