CHAPTER I INTRODUCTION

1.1 Purpose
1. Students are able to make LabVIEW circuits from the given schematic
2. Students are able to control the LED by pressing the switch or push button
on/off
3. Students are able to know and understand how to program a microcontroller to
read input data from the on/off switch/push button

1.2 Supporting Theories

A. Push Button Switch

is a simple device / switch that serves to connect or disconnect the flow of electric
current with a working system press unlock (not lock). The unlock work system here
means that the switch will work as a connecting device or an electric current breaker
when the button is pressed, and when the button is not pressed (released), the switch
will return to normal conditions.

B. Linx MakerHub App

LabVIEW MakerHub LabVIEW produced by National Instruments is a programming
software that has a different concept from other programming languages such as C++,
Matlab or Visual Basic. namely labVIEW using a programming language based on
block diagrams or graphics and the other using a text basis. The labVIEW program is
called Vi or Virtual Instruments because its operation and appearance can mimic an
instrument

LabVIEW makerhub is a VI linx which has a function to help Labview applications to

connect with other platforms such as arduino, chipKIT and myRIO, in this
programming labview makerhub is used to connect the simulator with a microcontroller
(arduino).

C. Arduino
Arduino is an open source platform used to build electronics projects. Arduino consists
of a programmable physical circuit board often referred to as a microcontroller and the
software, or IDE (Integrated Development Environment) that runs on your computer, is
used to write and upload computer code to the physical board.
Arduino Functions
Actually, the main function of Arduino is to facilitate use in various electronic fields
such as making applications for running LEDs, traffic LEDs, mobile robots, and many
others. By using Arduino, making these applications becomes more practical,
inexpensive, and easy to create and use.

HAPTER II PRACTICUM PROCCESS 2

2.1 Equipment
1. Laptops
2. Linx MakerHub and Labview applications
3. Resistor 220 ohm, Resistor 10 ohm, Protoboard, LED, Jumper Cable 6 pieces,
on/off switch button

2.2 Practical Tasks

Controlling the LED on/off using a microcontroller via a logic 0 or 1 . data switch
response
2.3 Experimental steps

1. Create a circuit in LabVIEW as shown in the picture

2. Then arrange the components on the protoboard according to the example scheme.
3. In this job 2 experiment, we use 2 resistors. The first resistor is 10 ohms and the
second resistor is 220 ohms.
4. When finished assembling then connect the input jumper cable to port 3 and the
output jumper cable to port 6.
5. Connect Arduino to PC
6. Then run it with the switch button
7. So if the switch on button is pressed, the led lights and led indicators in Labview will
turn on. Likewise, if we click the switch off button, the LED lights on the protoboard
and the LED indicators in LabVIEW will turn off.
CHAPTER III

DISCUSSION

As a connecting or disconnecting device, a push button switch only has 2 conditions,

namely On and Off (1 and 0). The terms On and Off are very important because all
electrical devices that require a source of electrical energy must require On and Off
conditions.

CHAPTER IV

CLOSING

4.1 Conclusion

A wide variety of commonly used electrical and electronic switches (switches,

switches) and their symbols are shown in the following list. Basically all switches make
contact on| turns on/off in different ways, but each switch does the same job of opening
and closing an electrical circuit.
