I must pass my Praxis Core Exam before I can take any education courses at UNLV to
continue my Bachelor’s degree in Education. The passing score for the Praxis Core in Nevada
Exam Preparation
I was surprised with my results in Math because I took my time in studying; however, I
did skim through the geometry portion. In hindsight I am regretful that I skim through that
portion. I barely studied the reading portion only did a few ETS practice questions, which
explains my results. For the Writing portion, I honestly did not study and I wish that I had;
because my result was a 60 I could have gotten a better grade if I had studied.
Exam Results
In Math, I scored in the 58% range, which means that I need to study rigorously. In
Reading, I scored in the 29% range, but with extra hours put in I know that I can improve. In
Writing, I scored in the 60% range and again with extra hours studying I know that I will
improve.
I have not yet taken the official Praxis Core Exam, and I know that I need extra help. I
will revisit the EST practice questions, but they did help with the Math portion of the test. I am
also, considering registering for Praxis Core Review courses at CSN. I was not aware that was
even an option, but with the results of my test I strongly believe that I can benefit from that
course. I will search for online programs and search through Amazon.com to see what books are
