STRATEGIC STRONG POINTS
Raj Gupta (“Raj”)
● Impactful public presence: Raj Gupta is regarded as one of the most influential and
respected actors in Filmistan (an Asgard-based film industry) owing to his humility,
dedication to work and the booming success of his movies. His work in the
web-series titled “Addiction” helped reinstate his public image very effectively.
● Financial stability: He can efficaciously provide for Vishakha as he has signed 5 new
contracts from multiple production houses for working in their OTT projects and
many endorsement deals with top brands in 2021.
● Natural Guardian: Since Mridula is no more, he is the only living parent and the
natural guardian of Vishakha.
Jaya Singh (“Jaya”)
● An upstanding individual of the society: Jaya is regarded as one the most influential
and intellectual minds of the 21st Century because of her contribution in the field of
Chemistry as a Professor at the prestigious University of Asgard, and as an author of
several books based on Organic Chemistry.
● A true role-model to Vishakha: Since 2015, Jaya has been a stay-at-home mother for
Vishakha. She is fiercely protective of her daughter, as is evident, when she took
Vishakha with her to her parents’ house when Raj’s aggression started showing, in
order to avoid any psychological trauma on the 7 year-old. She exudes good morality
and character which is a great influence on Vishakha.
STRATEGIC WEAK POINTS
Raj
● History of Substance Abuse: In 2019, after Raj hit a slump in his career, he resorted to
alcoholism and gambling, which in turn made him heavily aggressive towards his
family and left him under huge debts with a deteriorating public image.
● Unreliability in Personal and Professional life: The volatility in Raj’s emotional
mind-set left Raj’s house a potentially hostile environment for Vishakha and due to
inconsistencies in his career, he wasn’t a reliable caregiver for her.
Jaya
● Economic instability: Since Jaya quit her job in 2015 and then decided to stay with
her parents after her separation with Raj, it left her in a financially vulnerable position
in terms of providing for Vishakha.

 ● Frictional Relationship between her and Raj: Her adamancy in terms of divorcing Raj
would have a negative emotional impact on Vishakha.
● Not the Natural Guardian: As she is the step-mother of Vishakha, she is not her
natural guardian.
NEEDS AND INTERESTS
Raj
● To restore his public status: Due to the downfall of his public image, he is keen on
gaining back the trust of his audience and becoming a well-established individual in
his community.
● To be a better father-figure: He wants an opportunity to reconnect with his daughter
emotionally and salvage their relationship.
Jaya
● To protect Vishakha from Raj’s influence: As Raj had an inclination towards
alcoholism, gambling and a history of depression, she is worried about its impact on
Vishakha.
BEST ALTERNATIVE TO NEGOTIATED AGREEMENT (BATNA)
Raj
● Should the negotiations fail, the best alternative for Raj is to opt for litigation through
Family Courts in order to claim his right as the Natural Guardian of Vishakha and
gain full custody.
Jaya
● Should the negotiations fail, the best alternative for Jaya is to opt litigation and
approach Civil Courts and file for Divorce, and seek assistance of the Family Courts
in order to settle matters based on Vishakha’s custody and Alimony payments.
OBJECTIVES AND GOALS
Raj
● Custody of his daughter: To gain full custody of his daughter after the divorce.
Jaya
● Custody of her daughter: To retain full custody of her daughter after the divorce.
● Maintenance: To receive sufficient maintenance funds from Raj after divorce in order
to secure a better future for Vishakha and herself.
