I INTERNATIONAL MUSIC COMPETITION – MAŁOPOLSKA 2021

RULES AND REGULATIONS


§ 1. OPENING STATEMENTS

1. The competition is being organized by Private Professional Music Conservatory in Tuchów, Lesser
Poland (http://www.konserwatoriummuzyczne.pl/) and Society Promoting Young Artists
(http://www.spma.pl/).
2. The competition will take the form of remote auditions and will be based on submitted recordings.
3. Results’ announcement date will be set after the deadline for sending applications.
4. The competition aims to:
• promote musical artists around the globe
• integrate musical communities from various different countries

§ 2. TERMS AND CONDITIONS

All music students and professional musicians can participate in the competition.

Entrance fee:
• solo category – 50 euro
• chamber ensembles – 25 euro per ensemble member

• completed application form
• your photo
• your recording – YouTube link of your video (in the mail contents)
• confirmation of payment (any additional charges or fees during money transfer must be covered by
the participant)

Deadline for sending applications is set on December 24, 2021.

§ 3. SPECIFICATIONS FOR VIDEO RECORDINGS

1. The performance shall be filmed as one video and uploaded as unlisted on YouTube.
2. The recording must be available until the final day of the competition and the announcement of the
results.
3. The title shall consist of the name of the participant and the name of the contest, the description shall
contain your category, age group and a detailed description of your chosen pieces.
4. The pieces can be filmed separately and merged together. However, cuts during each piece are
prohibited.
5. The performer's silhouette must be fully visible.
6. The quality of the video should allow a fair evaluation of the performance. HD quality or higher is
preferred.
§ 4. CATEGORIES AND AGE GROUPS

CATEGORIES:

Solo instruments:
• Piano
• Harpsichord
• Violin
• Cello
• Double Bass
• Flute
• Clarinet
• Saxophone
• Voice (classical or popular style)

Chamber ensembles:
• Piano Duet
• Other chamber ensembles (any instruments, from 2 to 8 members)

AGE GROUPS:

▪ Group I:
year of birth: 2012 and younger
duration: max. 10 minutes

▪ Group II:
year of birth: 2009 – 2011
duration: max. 12 minutes

▪ Group III:
year of birth: 2006 – 2008
duration: max. 15 minutes

▪ Group IV:
year of birth: 2002 – 2005
duration: max. 20 minutes

▪ Group V:
year of birth: 2001 and older
duration: max. 40 minutes

DISCLAIMER!

Chamber ensembles are classified to age groups based on the age of the oldest member
of the ensemble.

In all categories and age groups the performance should consist of two contrasting pieces.
§ 5. SCORING SYSTEM AND PRIZES

1. Evaluation of the performances will be done by a Jury of eminent music pedagogues and professors.
2. Each performance will receive a number of points, which will determine the mark. There is a total of
25 points available to receive.
3. In every age group, the best performances will be nominated awards and/or honorable mentions. The
distribution of awards and honorable mentions will be decided by the Jury.
4. Every participant will receive a Certificate of Participation and the winners will be given prizes.
5. Verdicts of the Jury are final and undisputable.

§ 6. FINAL STATEMENTS

1. The participants’ personal data will be processed in accordance with the Personal Data Protection
Act (Journal of laws 1997, number 133, item 833, as amended).
2. After the announcement of the competition’s results, the organizers reserve the rights to publish the
winners’ recordings in Private Professional Music Conservatory’s social medias, that is on Facebook
(https://www.facebook.com/Konserwatorium-Muzyczne-107390544288970) and YouTube
(https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLvKrbEMAYAqB8gEvj41QZg).
3. Competitors give out their personal data voluntarily, but some basic data is necessary to be entered,
so the application could be verified and approved. The competitors have the right to look into and
correct their personal data.
4. Organizers reserve the rights to make a public statement containing winners’ personal data (name,
age, represented musical institution, etc.).
5. Applications containing false or incomplete information will not be considered by Jury.
6. Organizers do not take responsibility for applications, which are not submitted in time due to
unrelated circumstances.
7. Applying for the contest means accepting its rules and regulations.
