paragraph.

Part 1: A big part of being successful now is knowing where you want to be in the future. As you plan for
your future this month list the 5 colleges you would like to attend below and why. If you do not plan on
attending a 4 year institution you can list technical colleges or training you plan on completing.

1. Auburn: I love the campus. The student life seemed very fun at Auburn. There was a lot of
school spirit when I visited and they also have degree programs that interest me.

2. Georgia Southern: I love the warm weather down in Statesboro. The campus is very nice,
updated, and pretty. It is in state and close to Savannah which I’m considering living near after
my degree. They also offer business degrees with emphasis in marketing which I'm interested in.

3. Virginia Tech: My parents attended this college so naturally I'm already a big fan. The campus is
so pretty. I know a lot of my parents friend’s kids who go there. The student pride was very
strong. I would love to get a degree from here. They offer many programs with different things
I'm interested in. The major con to Virginia Tech is that it’s very far and expensive.

4. University of South Carolina at Columbia: My sister attends U of SC and really likes it. She
showed me around and I also like it. It’s not too far away, it also has a great nursing school
which isn’t my top degree choice but it’s something I'm interested in.

5. UGA: My brother attends UGA and is in the business school. This would be exactly what I want
to do. I am a big bulldog fan and would love to attend here. The campus is very nice, I enjoy the
city of Athens. It’s very close and I would have family that goes there. The business school is very
prestigious in my opinion and I would love to have the opportunity to go there. It is also in state
which would be much cheaper than some of the other options I listed.

Part 2: Of the five colleges listed select one as your top choice. Write a one paragraph summary of what
this college has to offer you. Include information such as campus organizations or activities you are
interested in, your intended major and how this college will help you achieve your professional goals.
Georgia Southern: This college has a lot to offer me. I would like to join greek life and become a part of a
sorority. This school is also the most cost efficient for me. I would currently qualify for the Hope
scholarship which would pay for most of my tuition. My intended major would be a BBA in marketing
with an emphases in sales and sales management. I would like to do something in this field. I'm still
unsure of what the official job title would be. By going to southern it will help me get a good education
in what I'm interested in doing.

Part 3: How do you believe your time in Work Based Learning will help to better prepare you for your
future college and career plans?

I think being in the Work Based Learning will help better prepare me for college and my future career by
teaching me time management, commitment, and teamwork. When there is a “rush”
at my current job, Bruster’s, there is little time for delay. It takes knowledge of the job, efficiency, and
collaboration with other crew members to provide a good customer experience. I’ve also learned that
having a job requires a commitment that comes first over “free time”. This job has taught me to
establish a working relationship with each crew member despite our differences.
