BELIEVERS BAPTISM

Matthew 28: 19 “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the
name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.”

Definitions:

I. What baptism is not?

A. Baptism cannot save a lost sinner

A sinner cannot be saved through baptism. It is not the way to

heaven.

A person said to a pastor, pastor when I die I am sure that I’m going
to heaven. How do you know the pastor replied. He said look I went
to every religion to be baptize by them because all of them claim that
they are true so if one of them fail I’m still going to heaven.

(Matthew 1: 21) proclaim that Jesus is the Saviour “for He shall save
His people from their sins.”

(Acts 4: 12) “Salvation exist in no one else” only in Jesus Christ.

(Acts 16:31) To be save you must come to Jesus

B. Baptism is not the way to heaven

The Bible is clear the only way to heaven is Jesus (John 14:6).
 C. Believers baptism is not pouring

D. Believers baptism is not sprinkling

II. What believers baptism is?

A. Believers baptism is through immersion

Baptism came from the original language (Greek) “Baptizo” meaning

to immerse.

Three symbols of believers baptism through immersion:

1.) Death of Jesus Christ – (Rom. 6:3)

2.) Burial of Jesus Christ – (Rom. 6:4a)
3.) Resurrection of Jesus Christ – (Rom. 6: 4b-5)

B. Believers baptism is the first step of obedience to God

Our example of obedience is Jesus Christ Himself (1 Pet. 2:21; Matt.

3: 13-17)

III. When a person should be baptize?

Immediately after his salvation

A. What is salvation?

It is spiritual and eternal deliverance

 B. From where must a sinner be saved?

From sin and death (Matt. 1:21)

C. What sin and what is death?

Sin is unbelief; disobedience or transgression of God’s Word, the

Bible. (1 John 3:4)
Death is eternal separation from God while being tormented in hell.
(Rev. 21:8)

D. How can a sinner be saved from sin and death?

1. Be willing to repent and believe the Gospel (Mark 1:15)

2. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ Who is the only way to heaven (Acts
16:31)
3. Receive Jesus Christ as personal Saviour and Lord (Rev. 3;20)

ARE YOU SAVE?

After your got baptize immediately you become the member of the local
church and you enter in covenant with your fellow church members to become a
good and useful member of the church.
