Đề 1:

The following extract is taken from an article on Loneliness

“It can be hard to admit that you are feeling lonely, but one in 10 British
people is lonely. It's not just an issue for the elderly - loneliness is rising
among the young. Social changes such as the growth of social networks,
combined with an aging population, are changing the way people interact
with each other. So is modern life making us lonely? And if modern society
is making us lonelier, what can be done to solve the problem?”

Write an essay to discuss the prolems and solutions of increased loneliness

among young people.

Hướng dẫn

Mở bài:

Dẫn đề: Nowadays, increased loneliness among young people has been popular
around the world.

Mục đích viết: In this essay, I will discuss the prolems and solutions of increased
loneliness among young people.

Thân bài:

- ĐOẠN 1: Trình bày về Problems:

+ The causes of loneliness include social, mental, emotional, and spiritual
factors. People experience loneliness for many reasons and life events can cause
it, such as the lack of friendships built during childhood. It is also common in a
break-up, divorce or any loss of an important long-term relationship.

+ Although we are the most connected generation, we are the most isolated too.
We feel lonely when we are left out from our group of friends, when we are
rejected, ignored or when we disappoint our parents, not being understood and
the list goes on. Depression, eating disorders, addictions, self-harm, and suicide
are mental challenges young people suffer from as a part of the emotional wear
of loneliness. They need real relationships not just a connection by texts or
social media.

+ Our modern society isolates young people all the time. Experts say we are
lonelier than ever before. Social media is one of the main symptoms of isolated
societies. Social networkers change what we do and who we are. Social media is
a form of communication but it is keeping us at a distance, emotionally. A text, a
tweet, an email nor a post do not engage us in face-to-face connections. Teens
may have always felt isolated but technology has heightened it.

- ĐOẠN 2: Trình bày về Solutions:

+ Young people should limit social media use. A 2018 Journal of Social and
Clinical Psychology article revealed that cutting down usage of Facebook,
Instagram, and Snapchat led to “significant reductions in loneliness and
depression over three weeks compared to the control group.”

+ Spend time volunteering. Research shows that doing things for others offers

mental and physical health benefits.

+ Cultivate authentic connections. Real-life friendships may need a bit more

tending to than virtual ones, but the payoff will be worth it in terms of
counteracting loneliness.

+ Connect with others by doing things you enjoy. For example, take a dance or art
class, join a hiking club, or get involved with a campaign for a cause you care
about.

Kết bài:

To sum up, in the mordern society, loneliness is increasingly among young

people and cause many harms to them. Nevertheless, I believe that above-
mentioned solutions can help young people decrease loneliness and live an
active life.
Đề 2: Write an essay to discuss the effect of technologies on children

Children are using digital technologies and media at increasingly younger ages
and for longer periods of time. They spend an average of seven hours a day in
front of screens - from television and computers , to mobile phones and various
digital devices. This is more than the time children spend with their parents or in
school. As such, it can have a significant impact on their health and well being.
With digital content they consume, who they meet online and how much time
they spend onscreen all these factors will greatly influence children's overall
development,
Write an essay to discuss the effects of digital technologies on children.
Hướng dẫn

Mở bài:

Dẫn đề: Nowadays, technology has become an integral component of daily life.
In particular, it’s become rare to see children and teens without a digital device
in hand wherever we go: restaurants, waiting rooms, parks and more. However,
the rapid pace by which children are adopting technology into their daily lives
has many questioning the effects it can have on their development.

Mục đích viết: This essay will describe the benefits and drawbacks of
technologies on children.

Thân bài:

- ĐOẠN 1: Trình bày về lợi ích của công nghệ với trẻ em
+ Good way for education: free websites, applications for English learning

+ Tools for online learning, especially in pandemic of Covid 19

+ Good way for entertainment: watch movies, listening to music, play games

+ Good for social communication: communicate with foreign friends and

foreign teachers

- ĐOẠN 2: Trình bày về tác hại của công nghệ với trẻ em
+ Not good for children health: obesity, eyes disease, get addiction  not focus
on study. The overuse of mobile devices can be harmful to children’s health, as
the more they use mobile devices, the less physical activities they do. In
addition, when children choose to play on their devices over physical activity,
they often couple their activity with mindless snacking and other unhealthy
habits. As children spend more time in front of those screens—most of the time
on the couch—the less time they spend outside playing, running, and burning off
calories. Over time, those habits can lead to significant weight gain and other
associated health problems.
+ Damage social relationships and interaction

As children use mobile devices more and more, they’re more apt to be virtually
connected with family and friends, rather than spending time together
physically; they’re more likely to text, chat on social media, or connect through
online gaming than actually meeting them in person.

Kết bài:

In conclusion, technologies have many advantages and disadvantages on

children. Personally, I think the benefits of technologies access
outweigh the drawbacks. Nevertheless, children should limit the
amount of time they use technologies.
