I. Explain in a sentence why each education philosopher was

associated with these given words:

a.) John Locke – the empiricist - because he believed that knowledge

was founded in empirical observation and experience.

b.) Spencer – the utilitarianist - Spencer developed an

evolutionary utilitarian ethics in which the principles of ethical
living are based on the evolutionary changes of organic development.

c.) John Dewey – experience – he believes that learning is through

experience and he also believes that human beings learn through “hands
on approach”.

d.) George Counts – Building a new social order - In his

address Counts proposed that teachers "dare build a new social order"
through a complex, but definitely possible, process. He explained that
only through schooling could students be educated for a life in a
world transformed by massive changes in science, industry, and
technology.

e.) Theodore Brameld – the Social Reconstructionist -  Brameld founded

the educational philosophy of Social Reconstructionism which
emphasized the addressing of social questions and a quest to create a
better society and worldwide democracy (Philosophical Perspectives).
Reconstructionist educators focus on a curriculum that emphasizes
social reform as the aim of education.

f.) Paulo Freire – Critical pedagogy vs. Banking Method -

Freire chooses the process of critical pedagogy as
his pedagogical model than the banking method.
